I know this is a Chris Moyles forum but seeing as there are several Moyles fans who are fans of Mark & Lard...

I'm currently listening to the only show of Mark & Lard's I taped (on Mini Disc fortunately) & to be honest you don't realise how much you liked something until it's no more.

My request is, does anyone know of where I can get hold of more complete shows, or even clips of Mark & The Boy Lard?

Apologies in advance if I have done a wrong'un here but thought that fans of Moyles would be able to point me in the right direction :D

Any help greatly appreciated :D

I taped a weeks worth of Moyles and Mark and Lard shows in 2003 which I have on a disc somewhere. I will dig it out soonish and upload it.

Got something quite special to upload soon, btw - very archive Moyles...

:D :D :D :D :D

Now I know how the people on here eagerly awaiting those classic shows I keep copying feel.

Five episodes of Mark & Lard, Moyles from 2003 (I only have 2 shows from 2003) and something possibly more older than the Capital FM half show from March 1997.

This is up there with them finding any missing Doctor Who episodes :D  :D

Oh, way older than Capital. Just doing some processing on it now, the original file I have is slowed down a bit, so Chris isn't as high-pitched as he should be. :D Just correcting that now, will chop them up into links and then post. Will upload sometime tonight, hopefully within the next hour.

Actually, I have extracts from, I think, three shows so I need to edit them all. I'll post the first one then work on the other two, although they probably won't be until tomorrow.

I have posted extracts from 2002/2003 Moyles shows before - the links might still work if you're extremely lucky, if not, I'll re-upload them as well, I actually found the disc with it on yesterday, as I was looking for the Joel Gold clips from some shows gone past.

No, but they are around 60 minute extracts. I'll post a compilation of the links then I'll post the full shows of what I have. The links are very short though.

Up in around 30 mins I reckon. Look out for a new thread with an interesting title...

Well 60 minutes is great (the Capital show I did is only 30 mins once you take out all the songs and ads from a 90 minute show 8O ).

I shall look out for that tomorrow, unfortunately work calls & I need my sleep.

Look forward to listening to these tomorrow. :D

Great news :D As I say the one I listened to (and copied) last night was wonderfully random, they we're doing a seance near the end of the show (not sure why though)

I'm pretty sure I had a clip of them interviewing a supposed Brit organiser about Craig David not getting any awards (only it was Mark interviewing Lard pretending to be a Brit organiser.) Even thinking about it is making me crack up... like I said, I hope I still have them, no guarantees.

Ah yes, Lard's impressions, on the show I have Mark phones up "Des Lynam" about The Premiership moving from 7pm to 10:30pm with them generally taking the piss

Alright, I have something, though not as much as I'd hoped, although I did chuckle at this... the only idea I have of when this was is that it was during the time that "Hi it's Wes" was doing the chart show. Basically, Mark and Lard were playing a clip of Great Moments in Pop and then Wes Butters cuts in doing his rehearsal for the chart show. His producer gets a phone call (and sounds mortified to be told that Wes' rehearsal is live on the radio) and then there's a silence and the emergency DAT tape kicks in (Outkast). I believe this is right at the end of Mark and Lard's show.

In the second file, which I believe is taken from the beginning of the show the following day, we hear the end of the Outkast record (which seems to have been triggered by the emergency DAT thingy again) and then Mark and Lard react to the previous day's events.

I've stuck them on my web space, I'll leave them there for a week or so.

The mistake (828KB)
The reaction (1.3MB)

Bit disappointed I didn't have the bits I thought I had though.

Any Mark & Lard is good IMO, thanks for these :D

Had a listen  Wes' producer when she relaises they're on air, you can also hear the person ranting down the phone at her ever so slightly, plus Mark & Lard's reaction on the over clip is pure class.

Oh I wish I had recorded some of these shows back then, stupid Boy that I am

OK, bad news - I can't find the Moyles shows I taped from 2003, the weeks worth I thought I had. They might be around here somewhere, but they're not where I through they would be.

Good news, I've found the 5 M 'n' L shows from 2003. And I've found something I'd totally, totally forgot about - a dozen plus full shows from their last month at Radio 1, and also a near full show from 2002 - the day of the England v Argentina World Cup game.

They'll all be uploaded soon=ish...

:D :D :D :D :D

LEGEND!!!!

Thanks for those, it's hard to believe that the Mark & Lard archive out there on the internet (compared to Chris Moyles) is so small, especially seeing how randomly great they were.

As I say you don't appreciate something until it's gone & several years on I realise I never really appreciated Mark & Lard enough. Shame no one ever replaced them on radio because with the exception of Moyles & a few others most DJ's are rather generic nowadays

Thanks again JamieC21, downloading them now & will put them on me iPod tonight :D

Here's hoping you find those Moyles shows from 2003, I myself only have two shows, one of which is the last show so any extra material from that era would be great to hear again :D

Hi, Johnny, were those OK? I know one of them was an mp2 - the reason for that is that they were direct DAB captures - no compression, virtually broadcast quality. All of the others (15-18th April 2003, 23rd-27th February, 8th March, 15th March, 18th March and 22-26th March 2004) are all the same mp2s. Thanks to Virgin Media's kind offer, I've now got twice the upload speed so these will be definitely uploaded soon before this runs out. :D

Got an extensive Moyles archive as well - virtually every breakfast show going back to May 2005, the old Listen Again streams - I might be tempted to take requests over the next month.

Speaking of Mark and Lard, have you heard 'The 'Goat' Story'? Or the M 'n' L/Moyles handover chat about the Cheeky Girls... both classic pieces of radio :D :D

Ah, so that's why it wouldn't copy over. My iPod doesn't like it :( However an upload to audacity & then a re-save should solve that problem (hopefully) :D although there is an option to convert the file to ACC (or is it AAC) format so that should solve that little problem

Well any Mark & Lard would be welcome, all that exists are a few links, hardly any shows at all so I'd be grateful for any of those.

Also regarding Breakfast.... Any good ones from 2007 & 2008 would be great (only got 2 so far this year, today's show (2/12/08) & the Steve Guttenburg one) and none from 2007 (my Mini Disc decided to play up at that point, so unfortunately several I have in my archive from 2005 & 2006 drop the sound for 1-2 seconds at random, not so bad in song but in speech it's a bit irreplaceable unfortunately, so I decided not to record any from last year until I got Audacity last month)

As for The "Goat" Story & The Cheeky Girls handover, I haven't heard either of them so they would be great to hear (I do have a handover where Moyles plays The Goodies theme for M&L but they want The Persuaders instead, of which Moyles duly does)

However, don't feel you need to rush these at all, I know what it's like trying to do them, you luckily have loads on hard drives, but Mini Discs & especially Tapes are an absolute pig to copy from, that's why it's taking my quite a while to do  However anything you can provide (especially on the Mark & Lard front) is greatly appreciated :D

Thanks Again :D
