Am I the only one who thought Murray Walker was dead?

Probably... he did a commentary on Five Live last season and I've seen him interviewed recently.

Yeah, I think it was the recent interview that's partially convinced me he hasn't.

Sad to hear about Reg Varney. Didn't he used to sponsor West Ham at one point?

I hate you Butler!

Really? I sometimes wish James Allan was dead, but unfortunately that hasn't come true so far.

Please BBC, don't employ him!

Well,, apparently he is available for speaking engagements if you just contact The Gordon Poole Agency............which in and of itself proves nothing.

Murray Walker is definitely still alive, unless he died so recently that they haven't announced it yet. Actually, I'm led to believe he is quite well for a man of his age. Must be all those Mars bars.

I wouldn't trust that agency, they're still touting round Des O'Connor's services... God rest his soul.

Odd - I was pretty sure Peter Sissons was dead.

Oliver Postgate, creator and narrator of Bagpuss, The Clangers, Ivor The Engine and many other much loved childrens programmes has died aged 83.

I am sure that The Mice on the Mouse Organ are playing something suitably sombre as I type.

"We will embalm him, stitch him, mend him, we will powder him and make him look nice."

"Oh nonononononononono, silly mice, you have to wait for rigormortice to subside we can't buy him in a T shaped Coffin"

"I know a Sea shanty about that Professor" - from the Bint on the top shelf"

I love Bagpuss, he was lovely, I often wonder what Emily would be like at Oral now?

Well, the BBC did catch up with her, although if she mentioned anything about that to the interviewer, it would appear to have been cut from the final edition.

Majel Barrett-Roddenebery has died.

For the non Geeks she was the wife of the guy who created Star Trek and appeared in several episodes and was later the voice of the ship's computer.

Genuinely, oh no. But then I'm awesomely geeky.

Although I just read that she's still the voice of the computer in the new movie out next year, so that's good.

On no! She was the voice of the computer in all of the newer series too, possibly not Enterprise, but definitely TNG, Voyager and DS9. She was in quite a few episodes of TOS too - I remember she was "Number 1" early on, a fairly annoying character who I seem to remember had a thing with Spock - later she was the nurse, Christine Chappel I think, and was more cosy with Kirk. An era has ended.

You kinda expect this to happen with the original series, it's been 40 years now. But on my wiki-walki (nah, I don't like that term for the random things you read on wikipedia that are linked together) I read that there's almost as many main cast from Babylon 5 that have died. Or 'gone beyond the rim' as they so nicely put it in the latest TV movie.
