I have about 60-100 tapes mostly between 2000-2002 so plenty of Melinda, Producer Rhys, Dizzie Lizzie & Grey Head Will. I'm just trying to find the right software to do it (I think I have it now) & I'll upload some. Also on these are a couple with Producer "Mad" Mick Meadows & some others when Melinda was off ill (or Holiday as Moyles always said) & of course Friday shows with Jon Culshaw. I think there's a few actually where the line up is : Chris, Dave, Melinda & Will, which IIRC Melinda wasn't around for that long when Will took over (not a personal thing, I believe he immigrated to Australia at the time?)

They are mostly complete, most on TDK CD90 or TDK CD90+6 (bizarre length ) so there would be either a break in a song or a link & the last link (Mostly Radio 1's Six at Six link) missing.

I also have a few Saturday shows, from 2000-whenever they stopped doing them. However most of those unfortunately are just the first 90 mins. They mostly have Producer Rachel & Richard who waves but says nothing

I have one complete show which, oddly enough, is Valentines Day 2004, the only break been at the 5pm News, as I managed to get hold of an old D120 tape & copied it at the time.

If I can work it out I'll try & copy some, not sure how to host them though, unless someone would like to host them for me :D

Please post them when you have found how to host them. All my tapes that are in the loft are broke and I miss them. They included the live recording on Bang Wills Head against the studio window and others like throw sugar lumps at the studio clock etc great features! :D

I might try & do the earliest Radio 1 show I have tonight, if I can work it out. Don't know the date of it only that Melinda (I think) is on it. The features on the tapes I think are:

Games:
Viaduct
Dave's Introductory Service
True or False
Big Mutha (one episode only, I think, possibly the last one as IIRC they all ask for a their favourite song to be played which happened in the last week of BB1)
Tedious Link
Traffic & Travel with Dick Cheese
The Not
Girls Going To Football
Whose In The Dog House
Dizzie Lizzie*
Bang Will's Head Against The Studio Wall*

*Not sure for definate

However some of those might be part cut.

I also have a few, complete & uninteruppted on Mini Disc (including, oddly enough a full episode of Mark & Lard, somewhere). One of the opening links has WIll & Lizzie arguing over letting down Gym Lady Jane (Remember her) & in the same link having a go at Will for writing into Ariel & bringing shame on the show

I'm not sure how people would want these, with music intact or cut out with just all the links intact?

Some good news :D

I've managed to record two of the shows, two completely at random:

Friday 26th March 1999, no Melinda as he's not feeling well so they have Dave (not me Dave, different Dave says Comedy Dave), no Rhys either although he isn't mentioned, instead "Shy Rich" (Which I presume is Richard Murdoch who waves at the microphone) as producer, however as a bonus Jon Culshaw is on air with them. Games played are Both True or False & Viaduct. The "cut" (tape ends) bits are during The Offsprings "Why don't you get a job" & a song I have never heard before or since so haven't a clue what it is. In the News they mention Yugoslavia (Balklands war). In Sport they mention that Kevin Keegan is the new England Manager

Monday 11th September 2000, returning after Richard Blackwood had filled in for Moyles for two weeks, Melinda gets told off on air (for some Reason Chris, Dave & Rhys were on holiday at the same time but not Melinda???) as he was "kissing Richard's ass" & gets called Mildred in the first link. New & rather odd bed music which doesn't last for that long, IIRC, it starts with a jingle saying "Chris Moyles is a T*at" and is quite rock heavy. There's an episode of Big Mutha but it lasts abotu 30 seconds as Chris in his Geordie accent tells everyone that because they've been off for two weeks. Martine McCutcheon is on for a qucik interview however unfortunately a part is missing as this is where the tape decides to turn over. There's an edition of The Not but unfortunately the tape finishes just as Chris starts. They discuss the final week of BB1 with them all saying they want Craig to win, although Melinda doesn't care because he thinks it's rubbish (if he didn't like it in 2000 he must really hate it in 2008)

Now I just need to find out how to host these, and whether or not I need to remove all music & just leave in the links, ads & news.

Two More Shows:

Friday 20th October 2000 - 95% complete: possible first apperance by Will (introduced as Sarah on here as he's putting on a silly voice) as Rhys has left the show, Jon Culshaw guests & the game of the day is Arm Wrestling 2000  Unique bed music also, well I don't have it on any other tape. Tape cut off points are unfortunately during Arm Wrestling 2000 although this is only when they are writing their names on a piece of paper to put into a hat & Bombfunk MC's Freestyle which get's interrupted by Dick Cheese's travel update, which is complete

Monday 20th November 2000 - 3:00pm-4:30pm only: The team are doing an extra hour as Mark & Lard are off. Instead of doing Dave's Introductory Service as they've "done it to death" they do a new game "Who wants to be a music square" & it's not because they have received the CD with all the sound effects & jingles from Millionaire  Tape cut off points are unfortunately during "...Music Square" however it's only the contestant deciding which of the answers is right from the "ask the audience" poll. The other cut off point is just at the start off Nelly's Country grammar.

More soon, hopefully

I'm just awaiting a reply back from Chris, if I don't hear anything I'll host them on the link given to me in another thread, as mentioned by a fellow forum member.

I have got a slight problem however. When I was copying them over I was deleting some files off of my iTunes (Long story short, computer crashed, reinstalled iTunes, doubled, triplicated or quadriplated - if that's a word - most songs) however unfortunately the "delete" sound effect of windows has taped as well, even though it was supposed to be recording via the audio feed only, oh well. So I need to re-record some.

Anyway I have decided to keep everything in but edit out the majority of the music (only keep the bits where Chris & Co talk) mainly for legal reasons if anything. Plus if you are good at editing you can edit the songs back in anyway.

Plus I'd imagine most would rather just have the links more than anything else.

Found some interesting stuff so far including:

*Who Wants To Be Music Square - Complete with MIllionaire beds & sound effects
*Arm Wrestling 2000, where the team all have an arm wrestling game (duh!)
*Dave's Introductory Service - Comedy Dave versus Jon Culshaw
*Jon Culshaw's Introductory Service - Dave was off sick, so Jon done it instead
*No Comedy Dave on a show - As mentioned above a show without Comedy Dave, so instead Jon Culshaw & Melinda talk more, making a rather nice one off change
*Old Jingles, including some from BBC Radio Leeds, where the team broadcast a show from, erm BBC Radio Leeds
*Several Spoof Ads inclduing one for becoming part of BBC Radio Ormskirk General for a whole 2 weeks, movie Pulp Melinda, Melinda & Jon's own Dance Music shows.
*Viaduct - Several editions
*Early news reports with Dominic Byrne
*One of Will's first shows
*Plenty of Melinda & Lizzie
*Interviews with "celebs" of the time, including Martine McCutcheon :D , Nasty Nick From BB1  & Hearsay

Hope to get alot of these done in the next month or so. However I have about 60-80 tapes & 20-30 Mini Discs to go through

Well I though that'd be best, I've kept it in on my copies but tbh some of the music back then is a bit poor (Mario Piu - Somebody Answer The Phone, remember that one?) Plus also, because they're quite close sometimes (I've recorded three shows from the same week in one case) the songs get a bit repetative

No problem, I've been meaning to do it for years & listening to a couple of the tapes, I'm catching them just in time, a few are a bit wishy washy with sound.

Oddly enough although I can remember some well (did listen to certain ones alot) soem of the latter ones I have no recolition (sp) at all so at the moment it's like listening to brand new shows :D

No problem, I must point out however that at the tiem I was a poor college student so could only afford cassettes & not Mini Discs so when the show got extended by an hour I only managed to get the first 1hour & half. However I have several Lizzie shows, complete, on Mini Disc.

One thing I forgot about was that when listening back to these was how sarky Melinda could be, in a good way mind. When Chris is talking about going on the BB1 forums Mel starts slating him & calling him an anorak. So far the two tapes I have copied over with Lizzie on don't really feture her much, in fact on one of them her only mention is on the jingle & during the opening link but you never hear her.

I must dig out my Mini Disc player this weekend though & copy over the one where Lizzie & Will have an argument over the fitness training & then Chris has a rant at Will for writing into Ariel (The BBC internal magazine for those who don't know), can't remember the rest of the show but that opening link is really funny (well was to me) and Dave can't stop laughing. Also the last Afternoon & First Breakfast show, which I don't think I ever got round to listening to in the end

Thanks DJMartyn, to be honest I nearly threw them out a few years back as I had nowhere to put them, plus all the walkmans I had, with the exception of the giant, bright red Sanyo walkman I'm using (which takes x3 AA batteries) is the only means of transferring these over. Glad I didn't throw them out now, especially as the two Capital FM tapes will help build up the Antique Moyles section :D

I recorded two of the shows but unfortunately only the first half. I don't know the dates unfortunately but one has an IRN (Independent Radio News) report at the beginning which gives the lottery results so I'd imagine that I can find out the date via the internet, there must be a website out there that lists all of the lottery draws from the first one up to present. He has a guest on there (Andre Vincent who is/was the producer of the Bob Mills Show on Channel 4, remember that) & Moyles talks about how much he dislikes the Spice Girls (obviously that policy has since changed, except Geri of course ).

The other one is harder to date because I either forgot to tape the News or they didn't have the bulletin for that one, I know it was near the end of his time on Capital FM becuase I clearly remember the following week they did a gag where Margareta Taylor calls Moyles & he answers the phone "Hello this is Radio 1", there is however two "special Chris Tarrant jingles specially made for this show", Bedtime Story & At Home with Louise & Jamie Redknapp, which unfortunately gets cut in half as the tape turns over :lol: so I'll probably cut that bit out.

Now these tapes are two years older than the rest so I can't guarantee I can do these unfortunately, but I'll try me best.

EDIT: Found a website with all the lottery results, The first tape is from Saturday 8th March 1997, the winning lottery numbers were 5,12,20,29,39 & 42 BB 22, there was 15 winners & they got £552,002 each, gutting in some ways as they didn't even get a million each 8O

Done one Capital FM show (from Saturday 8th March 1997) & the sound actually wasn't too bad.

However this one is going to be very odd, the links don't go on for more than 3 minutes & some are so short that the editing process is going to be really difficult. There will be a section in the middle which will just be loads of jingles but which have music playing th ebackground, I'm in too minds to include them but due to the fact Capital FM material is quite rare, it seems, then I may as well include them. Forgot that "Mr Camp" is on this one & there's mention of the "Information Super Highway", a term long since disused

I have finally edited the one from Friday 26th March 1999, which once gets uploaded you can hear my efforts, my editing is a bit hit & miss unfortunately , either that or it sounds odd as they talk over some of the music so when you edit out the "unspoilt" bits of music & cut back to the speech you get sudden jumps, oh well

I have to re-record a few as the IE sound effects have recorded on by mistake (DOH!) but will hopefully edit another one from Tuesday 4th Jan 2000, their first show back of the year (except, maybe Saturdays show, not sure though), no Melinda (ill again) Aled is there instead, although unfortunately you don't hear him on air, only a mention. However Rhys appears on air quite a few times on this one oddly

No problemo, however I have now got a problem, the software I downloaded only a week ago is now expiring & the cost to continue these going is at least $49.99 8O

Unless anyone can point me to some free software (that doesn't expire) this venture may come to an extremley early, premature end :(
