Anyone know what the record humping in the Champions League is? Just curious to know what the Rooney/Ronaldo/Berbatov/Tevez target is tonight. Our defence sucks.

Liverpool 8 Besiktas 0 in the group stages last season.

Liverpool also beat Stromgodset 11-0 back in 74ish.

I hate the fact that Arsenal are suprisingly consistent in the Champions League, but we can't reproduce that consitency in the Premier League. Seems to just put our players in the European shop window :(

Yup, they never really look like winning it.

Sorry, you presented me with an open goal and I pounced, Iwelumo-like.

At least they were consistent - they got ALL the offside decisions wrong! You can't seriously be thinking it would have made a difference to the result though, surely? And it'll be a different story at your place I imagine. Doesn't strike me as the easiest place to visit and get out alive, let alone with any points!

Our manager's scared of United and our defence are a bunch of calamity. I don't see a different story in a couple of weeks. I'm just hoping that Villarreal can beat Aalborg on the same night again and then we can play off for the UEFA Cup spot.

I swear I heard it this morning and he asked where the ref was from. Slovakia. Then he made some comment about the Slovenian league.

what excuse would that be?

Stoke have just been promoted & it's not suprising that they aren't doing so well, usually one of the teams that come up each season goes down again.

Newcastle have had all of that sodding around the last few months what with manager & board room issues.

If only it was that simple, sadly it's not.

With Newcastle the whole "Keegan is God" thing that the fans refuse to do away with has made the situation, in some ways, worse. To be fair I don't agree with the boards treatment of Keegan but I also don't think he's as good a manager as the fans make out.

With Stoke, well, I think they came up due to winning the playoffs (or was that Hull?). The problem now is that there is too big a divide between the Premiership & Championship. I believe it's only Arsenal of the bigger clubs that aren't owned by a foreign millionaire. The problem with all of these millionaires owning these clubs is that they have an unfair advantage over some of the other teams. To be fair Arsenal, Liverpool & Man United were big before all the millionaire buyouts happened & still are. However Chelsea were average at best & in my eyes, have unfairly bought theirselves the title everytime they've won it with a bunch of players of which most other teams could only ever afford to buy one of them.

Unfortunately if you're not in the Premiership then Sky isn't interested. Although the whole ITV Digital fiasco didn't help Divisions 1-3 & The Conference (?) Sky didn't help matters either as their attitude, when they took over the televisual rights back then was along the lines of "Don't think we're going to give you loads of extra cash, cos we ain't".

Until someone really starts treating Divisions 1-3 (or the newer stupid names of Championship, Leagues 1 & 2) better & starts funding them better then all you'll get is a big divide between the top ten & bottom ten of the Premiership & also a bigger divide between the bottom of the Premiership & the Championship
