Thinking about it, his mum did say that the timing of the Olympics did none of the tennis players any favours, which may be true, but to represent your country is something special, particularly in an event like the Olympics.

I still think the way the other fella played belied his world ranking, but even so, Andy Murray is now six in the world and threatening to become five or even four. He is capable of beating anyone (even Nadal, though it's not likely he would do it in a major event), so he should be beating this guy without too many problems.

Joe Murray out of the boxing I see, but we've got a fella through to the canoe slalom final. I saw our man (Ewan Burton I think?) in the judo earlier, which was frustrating because I don't understand the rules whatsoever. At one point he was in with a shout because he was only 10 behind, but all of a sudden the other fella got 100 points!

Well, for a start you can usually tell whether it's rowing or sailing by the size of the boats and looking to see whether or not the contestants have (an) oar(s).

The Chinese music is driving me mad as well, though you can see why they would want to give it that oriental feel and reflect the culture of the host country.

Not a bad day today in some ways.. through to the final (and hot favourites) in the coxless fours, after winning the semi, through to the final in the double sculls after finishing third in the semi and through to the final in the single sculls after finishing second in the semi.. however, the questionable tactic of resting your best swimmer for the women's 4x200m freestyle relay went against them, as they finished sixth and didn't even get to the final of an event they were apparently tipped for a medal in.

The Murrays are out of the doubles, so that'll please the little prick.

We're playing the Netherlands at hockey at the moment and the score is 0-0 with 27 minutes of the second half to go (I believe they play in halves as opposed to thirds or quarters?)
