Please help me. Having a VERY limited knowledge of computers I was bored with my old versions of real player and real jukebox, so I decided to update to the new version. Thinking myself clever, I uninstalled the version I already had before trying to download the newer one. This has just finished, but when I tried to install it a message came up saying that Windows '98 or above was needed. I only have '95. So now I'm left with no decent media player and hitting myself for not checking beforehand. Does anyone know a way to get round this or alternatively, another similar thing I can use? And while I'm at it, does anyone know any decent websites or books about how to find your way around a computer and the internet, because I think it's about time I learnt?

You could install Win 98, or try hunting through old magazine coverdiscs for realplayer (it'll be on virtually every disc ever). If you need something to play MP3's etc try Musicmatch jukebox or media player - neither will play Real Audio files though...

Wouldn't I have to buy the program to install Win '98 though? I never buy computer magazines so that's out. I'll download media player though, thanks for your help.

Erm..the old one? It was real jukebox 2, so I assume its the same for player. Sorry, I really am useless.

Media player should be an integral part of Windows anyway...

As for needing to buy the program to install Win 98? Do you mean buy RealOne or buy Win 98? I assume you mean Win 98, in which case, yes, of course you must buy it, you certainly mustn't borrow the installation disc from a friend and install it for free.

oh no, never, I wasn't thinking about who I know that has win '98 at all. Reminds me, must phone Nicola, for something totally unreleated of course.
