It may be possible over a 3g network but I doubt it. At present you can only use them with wi-fi wherby you use another service provider, Cloud, your home network etc....Normal internet works fine though and if you have 3G coverage they should load in seconds....

And Ladbroke, no I can get a signal on the Picadily line if you stand right near where the front of the train stops.

The Piccadily line? You're very deep underground there, that does surprise me a lot!

I believe it was Bruvva who linked to Maddox's web site for one reason or another the other day (the whole web site is very funny by the way), but this calls for him to be linked again...

Someone rang me about changing mobiles yesterday. He told me you get this, that, and the next thing. All too good to be true, I thought. Then, he promptly asked me for Bank details (just to confirm my address). At this point, I put the 'phone to the side, and left him talking to himself.

Dunno if anyone is interested in this, O2 seem to have updated their website for the iPhone 3G and their pricing plan:

iPhone is now free on selected Pay Monthly tariffs*
Best of all, the new 8GB iPhone won't cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 tariffs. And it's just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff.

If you'd prefer the 16GB version, it's free on our £75 tariff. Then you'll just pay £59 with the £45 tariff and £159 on our £30 and £35 tariffs.

All tariffs include unlimited browsing on your iPhone, unlimited Wi-Fi access, visual voicemail and reduced roaming rates with our International Traveller Service and are subject to a minimum term contract of 18 months.

Switching to O2 is easy and you can keep your existing number
Switching to iPhone is easy and we've a wide range of tariff options for iPhone available to suit all your needs. If you've already finished or nearing the end of your minimum term contract with another network provider, now is the right time to get the new iPhone 3G.

To purchase an iPhone with a Pay Monthly tariff you need to be over 18, pass a credit check and have a bank account for the monthly Direct Debit payments. You'll also need an email address you access regularly because your bills will be sent to you by email.

Keep your number
You can easily transfer your existing number to your new iPhone. Just contact your current network provider for a PAC code. Then let us know your PAC code when you purchase your iPhone in-store, or contact us online once you've received your new handset.

Your existing number will be transferred within two working days of us receiving the PAC code. We'll also give you a temporary number whilst you wait for your existing number to transfer so you can continue to make calls, send texts and surf the internet.

Where to buy?
You'll be able to purchase the iPhone online at o2.co.uk, in one or our high street stores or by calling O2. It will also be available at The Carphone Warehouse.

Existing iPhone customers upgrade to iPhone for free*
To thank you for being an iPhone fan, we're offering you an early upgrade to the brand new version when it launches on 11th July 2008. You won't have to wait until the end of your existing contract either, all you'll need to do is agree to a new 18-month minimum term contract.

Best of all, the new 8GB iPhone won't cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 tariffs. And it's just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff. This special early upgrade offer is only available online at o2.co.uk anytime from 11th July until 11th October 2008.

With O2 but don't have an iPhone?
Existing O2 customers can also switch to iPhone. We'll contact you when you're eligible for an upgrade and talk you through the best options.

You'll be able to upgrade online at o2.co.uk, in one or our high street stores or by calling one of our upgrade advisors.

*8GB handset provided at no additional cost on £45 and £75 per month tarrifs when you connect to a new minimum term contract. Subject to availability. Connection subject to status, 18-month minimum term contract, credit check & direct debit. Excessive usage policy and terms apply.

Not bad, I'd be tempted but I only put about a tenner a month on my pay as you go so there'd be no point!

I'm upgrading mine on Friday//can't wait! although stupid plastic case rather than the adamantium one it's made of at the moment means it will scratch like anything.

Foot's - are you now sponsored by O2 after that blatant advert for them? - I'll be amazed if Chris lets that stay up.

How are you upgrading? Did someone contact you or are you just wandering into a shop?

I'm thinking I might leave it till the week after to deal with it - the shop could be a bit busy on Friday. That said, I do have a bus trip to T in the Park on the saturday to sit through - that would give me something to do!

And no - I have nothing to do with O2 at all.
