The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Hmm so a while back I posted a thread saying how I felt the show wasn't as good as it had been previously. Well to balance that off I'd like to say that since the team got back off their last holiday(?) they have been flippin fantastic.

Everything just seems better, funnier, more enjoyable. the guests have all been amazing.

I can't put my finger on exactly what has changed, maybe it's just my own point of view but to me it seems like they are just doing everything right.

Well done to Chris, Aled, Dave, Dom, Carrie, Rachel, Matt, Piers and the rotating unit assistant for a job well done, a well deserved Sony Gold and adding a quadrillion listeners last quarter.

Agreed - except this week! The bit this morning with exploding sweets and the sherbert, coupled with that incredibly un-funny "HIRAREOUS!" clip which they are playing every thirty seconds or so make it sound like Scott Mills on a bad day. I think there may be significance in the fact that Aled is producing this week. I definitely prefer it when it's Rachel.

I loved the popping candy bit this morning....brings back som many memories....I'm not too keen on Hirarious though...I'm just not into big brother at the moment....unless there's any nudity.

Is that where the 'hirarious' clip is from? I didn't hear when they introduced it, but I've yet to laugh at it. I liked the popping candy though, I must admit.

Mel B was a good interview, from what I heard.

The popping candy was a direct copy of what Mills did ages ago with Mentoes and Pepsi - only I have to say the Mills bit was funnier because he actually threw up live on air.

And Gordon "chuffin" Ramsay - one of the funniest interviews I've heard in ages. The whole interview spent talking about how he met his wife.

Mel B's "Feel my boobs" was good, calling Chris' bluff and all that.

That Big Brother clip is starting to piss me off. Once or twice is good but not every few minutes! Her voice is terrible! It's like nails down a chalkboard. As for Gordon Ramsay, I'm glad Chris got him to expound on the story. When he had originally mentioned it (about 6 months ago) they didn't discuss it in such detail. Gordon's expression during the interview was brilliant as he realized he was digging himself in deeper and deeper.

Up to yesterday the show this week has been tolerable at best, incredibly annoying at worst (which is unusual).

However today - oh, today was MEGA! Dave singing Don't Stop me Now before 7 o clock was brilliant, and it just kept on getting better - and then Justin Lee Collins who was as always a wonderful guest. And forget his Tom Jones, did you hear his Neil Diamond? I would swear it was him if I hadn't known better! And the Golden Hour was the best ever today.

This is one to listen again to - and again, and again. I'm so sad.

Ah it sounded brilliant, the limited amount I got to hear (Justin's Alison Moyet was very funny.) I'll be listening again on that recommendation!

And the first song in the first section of the Golden Hour was the Lightning Seeds - I had forgotten how much I love them. Although the song was The Life of Riley, which always makes me think the football results are about to come on.......

I agree. Todays show was the best in months In my opinion, especially Dave singing Queen.

I love The Lightning Seeds, I saw them in concert in 1996 when they were supported by Baby Bird!! Wonder what happened to them (baby bird that is). Ian Brodie even called his son Riley, which I think is a great name.

Wasn't the song named after his son, rather than vice versa?

The song was named after his son, but half of it was written prior to his son being born.
