Nearly - today I have been mainly eating Hob Nobs. Remove a "b" and the "h" and rearrange the remaining letters and you get "noobs" which is almost right.

I hate the words 'newb', 'noob' (or 'n00b'), 'newbie' and anything like it.

What is wrong with 'new person' or 'irritating tit' (for the definition of 'noob')?

Well, this so called 'leet speak' gets on my nerves almost as much as text speak.

It's not L33t Speak, it's just "l33t".

Yeah hello!

44yo single-parent father of four young kids. Spent 14 years being a BBC Outside Broadcast engineer, until I escaped to New Zealand in 1996. I'm now a desk-bound diagnostic telecommunications engineer near Wellington in New Zealand.

I listen to every minute of every Chris Moyles Show, via the Listen Again website (on headphones) - it's taught me about music again. I'm the one engineer stuck in the corner of a large call-centre, and I keep getting into trouble for laughing out loud at the CMS. Most recently, the Ramsay interview had a whole "pod" of call centre agents staring daggers at me. Tee hee! Live with it!

I've introduced my four Kiwi kids to the Chris Moyles Show, and the parodies are a favourite amongst them. It's *very* funny hearing them wandering into school singing the "The Chris Moyles Show on International Radio One" jingle!

See ya!

Hi Ezza!

It's expensive being out here, and listening to the CMS! I hear music that I want to buy, but so many CDs aren't released in NZ. I have to get UK friends to buy them for me and post them over! I've been a CMS addict now for over two years. <happy sigh>

Welcome.

Ha-ha! Yes, that is me! It was taken in the South of France in 1993. Still my fave photo of me. Even now, I have the tache, I shave once a week, and I neither brush nor comb my hair. The numberplate on my car is "1 SHADY". Looked OK when I had a Jaguar!

There's no national FM station in NZ that is equivalent to Radio 1, so for years I ignored new music. Then about three years ago, I became desk-bound at work, and decided to listen whilst I worked. I used the Listen Again website to listen to Terry Wogan and Jonathan Ross. Well - I **am** in my 40s!

Two years ago, I put a podcast client on my PC and subscribed to various BBC podcasts, including Wogan, Evans, Fighting Talk and Steve Wright. I *knew* about Moyles, but only what I'd read in the tabloids - and that wasn't complimentary.

But I decided to subscribe to his podcast too, and ZAM! I just had to listen to the show itself. It was around the time that the team went over for the Euro football thingy - when Aled locked the keys in one of the cars.

I've been hooked ever since! I get to listen to all of every show, at my desk, and my productivity has gone UP. Moyles has reawakened my passion for music. I'm probably one of the oldest regular listeners, I guess!

Wogan Forever!

Ahh, the podcast works then. I find it odd that it really is as international as they say. Thats us with a couple of americanos, someone from Crete (i think) and you now!

Aside from Moyles, I recommend Zane and Colin on Radio One - both feature a lot of new music. The chat on Colins show is pretty decent as well.

Well, Chris won me over from Terry! Just needs to do that with a few more :-)

Zane is a good Kiwi lad! Member of a Kiwi pop group called Breaks Co-op. I've chatted with Colin by email - when I wanted to compliment him on Fighting Talk (if you haven't tried it, you MUST. Saturday lunchtime on Five Live, or via podcast. It's just the funniest.) But I'm not too fond of the music that Colin plays.

As I type this, I'm a bit behind with the CMS. I'm listening to Monday's show, and they are rating Ramsay's visit. Good old internet!

I have introduced my four kids to all of the musical tastes that I have got from the show - and we watch loads of music videos that I select for them. When we watched the Brit Awards the other month, they were delighted to see Chris on TV, and REALLY happy that they knew virtually every song and every act that happened during the show. I feel that I am doing my parenting well! LOL
