Cuddly Moyles has lost 13 pounds! Well done, Chris :-) This is thanks to his new running regime! :-)

And Chris Moyles' incentive? Victoria Sponges!! Hmmm. As long as it's not a tenement block of sponges.

Again, well done, Chris M.! Keep going! :-)

Is Victoria Sponge related to Aunt Sponge?

Well where i work we have a customer on the system called Urec Unt

They have been paying bills in that name for 7 years!

I think that is someone with a good sense of humour personally, or even funnier parents!

Why are IT guys always usually "up" themselves. It must be the power-trip thing... When I used to work in a hospital, our IT guy put the 'phone down on me! Dickhead.

It just depends. I've found in smaller companies, they are geekier (but I like that).. In larger companies, more vicious.

well i work for severn trent water so a reasonably large company

although some IT guys are nice enough the ones on the helpdesk just dont know what they are doing!

they have no training whatsoever and considering im part of the team running a contact centre when something goes wrong we nearly always need it fixed straight away....and they just dont care!

In my opinion (and I do work on a helpdesk (among other things), have had no training and get on fine thanks very much), you don't need to be trained. You can teach yourself.

Our helpdesk people are fantastically good. They have a very difficult job in a national organisation with 40 plus offices scattered around the country all running different versions of our systems, and a workforce of a quarter of a million to service. They can't answer everything themselves, but they certainly make sure that if they can't they find you someone who can.

Well the guys on our helpdesk definately dont teach themselves

When i worked at BT they did have an amazing service desk, but also had a quite large onsite team of geeks who just used to bring down a diferent computer and swap it over and go back to their "labratory" to disect the computer
