The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I think he'll be good. What The Surgery needs is someone who is in touch with teenagers. Bosses first thought that was a spoilt brat who gets everything for being a rock star's daughter. Now they're realising listeners want someone like Emma B or Letitia.

It will be interesting to see how Aled does on the show. I'll be listening.

Your avatar says it all. I'm not really on the show for you.

A sound judgment based upon my avatar, you couldn't be more correct, obviously I'm just like Al Murray.............. :)

It annoys me that the only time anyone from the show gets involved on here is to complain about some criticism.

There are plenty of posts complimenting the whole team, the features, the station, the show - everything, but a few people make their negative opinion clear on one subject and it's THAT which provokes a reaction. As has been said by Chris before, it's a tough crowd on here, the fans are always going to be the harsher judges so, bearing that in mind, maybe don't get too upset about what is being said - people want the team to do well!

Good luck tomorrow night though, Aled.

Nicely put Footloose, I couldn't agree more. The CM show works so well because of all the different personalities gelling into a great, and hilarious team. I like Aled being someone Chris picks on and takes the mickey out of (although it's obvious they like one another). I just don't see him working as a presenter in his own right. Maybe he will and it's just that his on air style isn't to my taste.

I'd like to add - a simple "thank you" to some of the compliments that are given to the team on here would go a long way, I think.

I think Aled will be a hell of a lot better at The Surgery than Kelly Osborne. At least you might be able to believe that he gives a shit.

Well done Aled, and good luck. Rachel's still my favourite though.

I've only listened to the surgery with Kelly once and I didn't like it because of the poor quality of some of the experts on there but also mainly because I don't like Kelly's voice. I'm sure she's a lovely person but her voice grates on me.

This is why I shall be looking forward to hearing Aled do the show. We know he's a sensitive souls who cares about other people, that's obvious from what we hear of Aled on the show so I think he'll be good on the surgery.

At the risk of provoking another hissy fit from Aled, I've just heard the trail for the show, and in my view he'll need to lose the self-consciousness in the delivery to make a good go of it.

I hope he does however, as I've

a) no desire to see him do anything other than well, and
b) no desire to hear Kelly Osbourne ever again. On anything.

Good luck Aled.

I liked the trail, and also the dream sequences, they were very funny.

hmmm... disagree. He isn't self-conscious at all, I don't think, but more comes across as being very sensitive. I'm sure he will do the topic of relationships extremely well. He's also got a Dr. from "Relate" coming in to do a bit of the show with him.

Fair enough, and I was only basing that on the trailer, which was obviously a read rather than presenting. Nevertheless, I ended up listening more to how was speaking than what he was saying, which isn't ideal. I certainly think the topic suits him, and wish him luck.

Most people sound a bit self conscious when they are reading a script though - it'll be different on the actual show.

I don't  :D

(And more to the point, neither do the regular presenters...but I agree it should be different on the show)

I don't sound self-conscious either when reading!! I reckon he will surprise everyone on Sunday evening! Dr. Mark will be in as well, which will help.

Oh God! Radio 1 must be running short of presenters willing to cover for Kelly cause Aled is no presenter, we have all witnessed that. It's not that i wish him to fail, but I have been listening to the CM show for about the last 4 years and Aled seems to be great as the the one everyone laughs at rather than laughs with, and it works... however give him a show to present on his own....disaster (my opinion before you all jump)

Hang on a minute, you idiot. To praise him on what a good presenter he will be before hearing the show is acceptable but to think he won't be any good before listening to the show isn't?

Why would I want to, iwas the one who originallymade it (over on Aled.info). However - you have said:
katieo wrote:Oh God! Radio 1 must be running short of presenters willing to cover for Kelly cause Aled is no presenter, we have all witnessed that.

And then you have said:
katieo wrote:
catherine wrote:Hang on a minute, you idiot. To praise him on what a good presenter he will be before hearing the show is acceptable but to think he won't be any good before listening to the show isn't?

So you both accept that there is no evidence to show whether he is a good presenter or not, but also state that we have all witnessed that he is "no presenter".

You are a berk.
