Gervais in GTA4

The best thing about this is that you can kill him. Repeatedly.

*BANG* That's for having 1 joke in the entire run of the Office.

*BANG* That's for playing David Brent in Extras

*BANG* That's for playing David Brent in Stardust

*BANG* That's for playing David Brent IN EVERY * THING YOU'VE BEEN IN.

So Bruvva, your ideal movie treat would be a film starring Ricky Gervais and Will Smith then?

Yes. Because then I could blow the cinema up, thus ridding the world of people who like the both of them.

Why? I know it's quite trendy to dismiss his stuff but I can't see why he's attracted so much hate.

I think The Davinci Code, however uncool it may be to say in front of people who read lots of books, is really well written - if you count a gripping page-turner as being the product of good writing.

It is purile in the extreme and unfortunately has only made people read his books! There are much better books out there, in my opinion, that cover similar plots/theories and are written in a much better style and are equally as gripping. I remember when his other books came out the first time about 10 years ago and failed to make an impact because of their infantile writing style, now, however, they are best sellers purely because he came up with one good idea. I love the idea of people reading, however, I get annoyed when they only read the one author just because he had one good story.

How do you know that's always the case though? It's entirely subjective.

What part of my post are you referring to? The fact it's poorly written - I did say that it was in my opinion. The fact that people who read his books don't read anything else is, on the whole, true. People who started reading just to read The Da Vinci Code very rarely read any other author.

Sorry Yuds. Although I thought that with the "e" was the American spelling. I will try and be better at it and write out the word 100 times.

Your feelings on Dan Brown?

Dan Brown? I have never read anything he has written, so I can't really comment. I didn't see the film either, although I wanted too, Paul Bettany is one of my favourite actors.

I saw the film, I didn't like it. I like many of the actors in it (Tom Hanks, Paul Bettany, Iam McKellan and I think Alfred Molina is in it, too) and I like that 'ancient mystery with clues hidden in plain sight' idea, but I just didn't like the film. I've thought about reading the book, but I've never really got around to it.

Proof (as if it were needed) that some people don't read threads before posting in them. My advice to you, Gav2k30, is to never go into a 'Vivienne' thread thinking that the title has anything, what-so-ever, to do with what is actually being discussed.

Doesn't the PS3 also have a live-esque thing?
