Trying to find a generic "Congratulations" card was a bit annoying today. It's quite difficult to get a card that says "congratulations", without appending "on passing your driving test / exam" or "on your new job / house / boy / girl / Shrek" on to it.

Trying to find any generic cards a chore. Theres lots of room for creativity on the front but most of them aren't that brilliant. Theres the naff ones with the fancy writing with all that sentimental crap - I avoid those for all family members as a rule, which means I'm hard pressed to find anything thats even vaguely humorous or stands out from the rest.

Create and craft on ideal world the things they can make is hilarious, they have a big thing with cards and personalizing them. They are like the mafia of the create your own card world! Buy it now for the amazingly low low price of.... Never did get to find out because I wanted to save my sanity and so changed channel and was tempted by some steak knives and how low the price goes now one knows! But everyone pays the lowest........... to try and escape from this madness, a try again is in order,.... call your operator who is standing by to place your order for the microwaveable grill, simply place the grill in your microwave and BANG half your kitchen is gone as you have been tempted into buying metal to go into the microwave! The joy of shopping channels but the one thing which is funny is the shear amount of bovine crap (think of those wolf fleeces as a example) which these folks sell and because of the laws of impulse buying folks call in, it never ceases to amaze me! :D

Have to say, this would be my recommendation. I always get blank cards whatever the occasion, and Waterstones do a very good range from funny ones through pretty ones to arty ones. Get a really nice blank card Topher, and write "Congratulations" on it - it's not that difficult!

Ew, our post office doesn't, they're all cutesy bunnies and pink fluffy fairies and crap. Our local library has some good ones though.

Yeah, I could do that. For birthdays, etc, I prefer to buy those black and white cards with the captions underneath, I like them.

I don't agree with birthday cards at all. Or Christmas cards. Money scamming crap from Clintons Cards.

My sister moaned cos i didnt get her a card for her 21st so I took an envelope from someone elses, ripped it open, wrote Happy Birthday etc inside. She wasn't impressed, but I bet she remembers mine a lot better than everyone elses.

If you insist on giving birthday cards then you should make them.

I agree with that Foots, but people do get teasy if you don't send them. Mothers especially, I sent my Mum an email and pictures of the kids on Mothers day, and I got a shitty text asking whether she had done anything to upset me !!

Christmas cards are by far the worst thing, when I had a job running a company I would be expected to send all the staff cards, well I didn't bother in the end, as it's just like school, how many have you got? sort of crap. I had to relent a bit this year as the school got the kids to design cards which us parents had to fork out a £5 a go for, but it would have looked cheap not to buy your little loves work of Art ( Master Boboff can't really draw and the snowman was a shocking load of crap to make matters worse)

Cards are only ever welcome when they contain cash or cheques, otherwise not bothered.

What if I send you all home made cards featuring my dead guinea pig? You'd love it then.

Annoying me today? Everything.

My mum tells us not to get a Christmas card for her and we don't get one back, which suits us fine.

Annoying me now is a bunch of kids newly arrived at the library, making tons of noise, and parents with no control over them.

Libraries are changing places- catering to kids and supposed to be a happy, friendly environment. The bastions of books with bun-heads who shush anybody dares disturb their concentration on the crossword puzzle are a thing of the past.

If making libraries places which are actually fun to go to encourages children to read and value books, then they can make all the noise they like as far as I am concerned.

I have more annoyededness in my system than usual tonight because of work tomorrow, (Sundays are famously annoying) its a real pain not knowing whats required of you till the last minute, whereas all it would've taken was an e-mail or a text earlier on with the vital details so I can prepare for the day, I'll be up late tonight now.
