What songs could Chappers & Dave run to, as they raise their worthwhile cash? Vernon was discussing this on Saturday, and Edith had this as her "topic of the day" yesterday...

"Eye of The Tiger", "Jump" and "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen have already been covered. :-)

While I may be ridiculed for this, Proud by Heather Small is a good motivational song. I love her voice as well.

It's not one that I would have thought of it, but it I can see how it could motivate people.

The problem I have with listening to songs while running, is that I always try to sing them, which is not a good idea while running (especially long distances). That's what makes 'Gonna Fly Now' so good, you can just have the instrumental (although I have been known to hum this while running).

Why is singing along not a good idea? personally, that keeps me going :-) The only thing I find I have to watch whilst running/listening to music, is being careful not to be run over (for example, my van episode of the other week), because you can't hear traffic.

When you run you're supposed to get into a rhythm with your breathing (like swimming, Viv), so if you're singing, your breathing isn't so rhythmic.

Hmmm.. guess so. Did you know some people actually forget to breathe when they are learning to swim? I've often heard Instructors commenting on this whilst they are teaching? Also, did you know that the pea is the oldest vegetable in the World?

Running is about the only time I don't sing. I do like to have music on though, but it's important to still be able to hear what's going on around you so I try to keep the volume down and not use too high-quality earpieces!

I miss running, but I can barely walk at the moment, so ho hum.

Yes.. I have done it, although I think I'm getting better at it.

I struggle with taking in enough air in time before I have to put my face back in the water.

Apparently I am also the only person my instructor has ever seen who has a better leg kick with flippers on than without. I like being different.

As much as I love that song, I'm not sure I'd want to run to it.
