Theres an unusual and special schedule for monday march 24 (easter monday) as follows:

7am-Zane Lowes breakfast

10am-Rob da bank

1pm-Judge Jules

4pm-Tim Westwood

7pm-Daniel P Carter

9pm-as normal

Wil be interesting to hear how the specialist djs get on during daytime.I wonder if more of this sort of thing will be done in future.

That sounds like a day of absolutely shocking radio, I will make sure I don't listen. I don't want to rain on anybody's parade but I absolutely hate specialist DJ's I just don't like them, Sorry. :(

I don't know If you would agree but I think they should stick to the normal line-up, Not that I'm taking anything away from the DJ's above * Cough, Cough * 8)

Lets not forget what Easter Monday is all about though...

It's about getting shit faced on Sunday safe in the knowledge that you don't have to go to work on Monday and you can either just lay in bed all day if it's bad weather or go to the park and hang out with your mates if it's a hot sunny day (rarely).

Actually my mate once pulled in 2 hours due to his success on the pub quiz machine and the fact that (and I quote) "it's bank holiday Monday tomorrow and there's nothing else to do so I might as well!" it's like being on holiday in your own country!

Yay!
Can't wait for that - I much prefer the specialist shows (in general). Zane Lowe breakfast sounds amazing!
What's to 'hate' about them Tom?
Bring on Easter Sunday :D

Well I think the word hate was a bit much but I like DJ's that don't play much music but do a lot of comedy and talking, Thats why I like Chris Moyles and Scott Mills. I must have been feeling a little harsh when I posted that comment because I quite like Zane Lowe :D

I think he's very funny - and I like to think his DJ persona is totally ironic. As he says, he's the Alan Partridge of hip hop :D

I don't want to think to much about this but, I don't think he takes himself seriously enough and he absolutely killed Pimp My Ride UK. Maybe we should agree to disagree, Yes ? :D

He's not really someone I'm that bothered about - but I think that someone who doesnt take himself seriously is precisely what that type of music needs - everyone else seems so up themselves!

But yes, agree to disagree - most of my friends seem to think the same thing as you. :D

Despite all this, I think it'll be great to hear these DJs during the day - I wonder if they will change their playlist accordingly.

Changing the playlist for one day so certain DJ's can play the kind of music they like seems a bit overdramatic, I'm sure Westwood and Pete Tong can cope with the likes of Girls Aloud and Mika for one day.

All this aside I'm now rather excited to see how easter sunday goes !

I like Zane, and can't stand Westwood, the others I've never really heard. I won't catch any of Radio 1 on Easter Monday anyway so it doesn't bother me who they put on :D Good idea though to give the evening DJ's some daylight.

Rob Da Bank is worth a listen - he plays weird undiscovered bits of music which makes a really eclectic show. I'd say he's the closest to John Peel that Radio 1 is ever going to get.

The only late night DJ I like Is Colin Murray, It's a shame I have to stay up so late to listen to high though. I think he should do a podcast ! :D

I listen to him on the I Player at some point then, thanks!

She's still on Radio 1. Or am I missing some sort of witty joke?

Well, when I say bring her back, I mean bring her back to the Rock Show.

Ah, OK.
I personally think Daniel P Carter (plus Mike Davis) do a great job, and Mary Anne Hobbs has been pushing the new genre of Dubstep, which is one of my favourite forms of new music.
However, It's all down to personal preferance I guess.

I'm not into the Breezeblock stuff, but I loved the Rock Show when she did it. To be fair, I've not really managed to listen since this guy has been doing it, but Mary Anne Hobbs has the sexiest voice in radio, so I don't think I'd prefer him anyway.
