How many of you would like to see a post from Chris Moyles on this Site?

It's great that Aled bothers to post, but I would like to see a post from the main man himself. Unofficialmills are lucky enough to have Scott posting every once in a while... we should have the same, I think. :-)

O Console... you're such an annoying young man sometimes.

No, because you have to pick over my grammar. What you said... is what I meant!!

Thats not grammar, thats just poor expression. If thats what you meant, you should make sure you don't say something so completely different.

Console's right ( oh what a surprise!!) - no, of course he shouldn't post, but I would love it if he did. And I'm totally happy Aled is back with us.

No, too cold! Stay in the warm.

I knew what you meant Viv :)

I'm pretty sure though that everyone that visits these pages would like to read posts from Chris - pretty dumb to visit a fan site if you don't want to see posts from the person the site is about...

Chris was putting the site down last week for both the critisicm and the 'fickleness' of (some of) the posters. I completely agree with that view.

Put this into context - Imagine you are at work and suddenly find that a load of strangers, that don't really know everything that goes on (behind the scenes) - they don't fully understand why you do what you do, in the way that you do it - dishing out a load of opinions! You didn't ask for it, you didn't invite it - but they do it anyway. Personally I'd be pretty narked.

Now obviously this site serves a purpose to those that read and post on it - but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Chris is 'removed' from it. obviously he reads it, and 'm sure there are posters on here he would be happy to interact with - but if I'm honest, the way this forum sometimes reads, you would think we own the show and have a god given right to demand what content is on it. We are no doubt all familiar that Chris has the view of his show, if you don't like it, turn it off. He's always worked by that motto - so surely people must realise that if he doesn't like something, he won't try and put it right - he'll just 'turn off'!

There are two ways to give negative feedback - criticism and constructive criticism and from what I have read on here (I've been lurking a while) the forum often gives the former rather than the latter.

So overall, whilst I would love to hear from the man himself, I fear he won't post because of the above!

He is of course, welcome to PM me at any stage :D

This doesn't put anything into context - unless you have a job which involves you broadcasting to 8 million people on a daily basis.

Wow, what a post!! I'm glad you knew what I meant, Fids. I think too, that there is too much negative criticism... I guess we can all learn from this... to look for more positive stuff with Chris' show. That said, if we do find something negative, we do have right to comment on that too (providing, as you say, it's "constructive"). O, and less grammar corrections would be good. ;-)
#332305
Who corrected Chris's grammar?
#332306
I meant... my grammar, which I'm sure you would have known. I know what Chris means by a "certain group of people". Less nit-picking, get positive posting, get the job done, that's what I say. Now, time for my lunch...

Don't get me wrong - I'm sure the forum is really helpful to Chris and team at times - nothing at all wrong with 'Constructive' critisicm - it;s just the way some of the comments come accross sometimes.

As for it not being like anyone's elses job unless you have a radio show with 8 million listenners - of course it is! I am sure Chris would be interested to receive feedback from his peer group, management and individuals who's opinions he respects - and I'm sure he seeks feedback from them all regulaly - just as we probably do in our day jobs. I have my own views on many aspects of the show and I'm sure I'll post many of them up in the time ahead but I wouldn't expect Chris to respect any of them. i don't know the first thing about running a radio show, i don't know anything about licence restriction, running orders, musical obligations etc. etc. I also challenge that many on here do either. Just like I don't know much about Pig Farming, Bin Collecting, Cake decorating or Accountancy - so I wouldn't expect anyone to respect my views on those things either.

If I post any views up, I will do so as a listenner - maybe that is what I'm trying to say - some posts seem to expect they have more rights than that!

Agreed, Fids :-) I'd like to know though what Chris was hoping to "learn" from the forum... he had commented he had never learned anything. I would have thought it would be us, as listeners, who would be learning.

Absolutely. And in addition, I also expect feedback from any individual who is affected by the way I do my job - these range from local government officials, civil servants, barristers, farmers, ecological consultants, property developers, members of the public - and more. These people have no idea of the minutae of how I do my job, what's involved, who else is involved, how it happens - but they have an absolute right to comment, positive or negative. That's all that happens here with Chris.

Hence this -

- was a daft thing to say.
