What kind of jewellery, if any, do you like? And do you prefer silver or gold?

I don't go in for jewellery in a big way, but do like silver, hoop earrings.

I like silver, long necklaces that have a nice pendent at the end of them.

I quite like those too... Apparently it's "unlucky" to wear silver & gold together (fascinating fact of the day).

Did you know as well that whether you will suit silver or gold is down to skin tone? A more bluish skin tone means you will suit silver more. I read this somewhere.

My engagement ring will be platinum if i'm lucky or white gold if i'm poor.

Hmmm... this is not a good idea. I have done this myself, just so I could be "engaged" like my friends... it's not advisable.. well, unless you're planning to sell it!

White gold is lovely, Tophs. You get it on amazon's site. They've got white gold hoop earrings, which I may buy sometime soon.

I don't think that's the point: there are cool & warm skin tones. cool skin tones = suit silver, warm = gold.

I don't wear a lot of jewellery. The only pieces I wear every day are my wedding ring and engagement ring (yellow gold, amethyst and diamonds) and a silver and mother-of-pearl watch. And the idea that the type of metal you wear can have any affect on your "luck" is completely ludicrous.

I don't wear a lot either: just a pink watch, blue radio 1 bracelet; silver necklace; silver hoops; hair clasps.

Yeah, but no more ludicrous than the idea that walking under a ladder will affect your luck, or having a dead rabbit's foot will have the opposite effect.

Similarly, to those people who forward emails saying "forward this to 300 people and you will get good luck, but delete it and you will die", I hope you never get my email address because they're more irritating than spam. In fact they are spam, but more irritating than most spam.

My step mum owns 2 jewellery shops so I get free repairs and cheap jewellery.... I have a white gold engagement ring, a yellow gold ring on my index finger which i have had it since i was 18 and refuse to take it off (much to the g/f annoyance), a white gold bangle and a yellow gold st. christopher.... I am not so keen on yellow gold now but the items i have are sentimental so wont ever take them off.

There is some really horrible jewellery about though. I particularly loathe those horrible gaudy gold and coloured clown and teddy bear pendants. Incredibly ugly.
