If there's been a worse record made this millennium then I want to hear it. My god, what a load of derivative tosh, I was thinking "oh it's like that Raise Me up" song that someone sings on X Factor every year and when the key change kicked in, I thought "it's EXACTLY the same". Horrible, lazy, ballad by numbers rubbish.

On the contrary, if there's been a worse record made this millennium then I don't want to hear it. But I agree on everything else.

I agree with everything Chris said about it on the show this morning. It's boring, droney rubbish, and if she carries on allowing herself to be told to release this kind of crap Leona Lewis is going to have a very short time at the top indeed.

I actually heard it yesterday afternoon on the Mills show, and thought it was terrible - but as I am always in "this is appalling" default mode when forced to listen to Mills, I tried not to be too influenced. But again this morning - and it was every bit as horrid as I thought. And what's with the rubbish production? It's actually made it sound as though Leona can't sing at the beginning, why do that?!

I agree with you 100%. It's disgraceful. I especially hate the drawn out notes that "vibrate" at the end of every sentence... who does she think she is? Whitney Housten? Please. Go home.

Thing is rustybike, she doesn't actually sing like that, she has a great voice and doesn't tend to use too many vocal tricks - all that excess vibrato is part of the production, they put it on deliberately! Why??

And yes, she does have a great voice but no-one comes close to Whitney at her best.

I see. Well then i feel very sorry for her if she's going to be stuck with a production company that is currently ruining her voice and is later going to destroy her career. Why do they do this with artists?
I can honestly say (coming from someone who hates pop) that she does actually have a good voice, but it's not being shown in the right way. Poor Girl.

That's quite a generalisation to make. I don't think there's anything wrong with pop records that are done well. I like a lot of Pink's records and love The Feeling. I also liked Baby, One More Time (but that's the only Britney song I like) and Crazy in Love by Beyonce.

That's too bad, she went on X-Factor and should have checked what she'd be letting herself in for beforehand. She's an average singer with a massive hype machine behind her. The crappy song will not only hurt her but it will also hurt Sport Relief. Not that Simon Cowell cares, he'll get a larger cut of the money that the charity.

See i wouldn't class P!nk as Pop at all... hence why she's one of my top 3 favourite artists (and because I want to marry her one day). P!nk a bit of everything. She's in the same category that 4 non blondes, Alanis Morissette, etc. were/are in. Not Pop, but not rock, or metal, or r'n'b. Those types of people are they're own category i persoanlly think.
I class Britney, Girl Bands, Boy Bands and all that sort; Pop. Indeed, they can do well; but it's hardly them "doing it well" most of the time - it's their song writers (Christina being the exception as she is known to write her own songs), the production company, the choreogrophers, etc. doing alot of work. There's so much editing, dubbing and snipping as well that i don't see why people should give them credit for singing a song someone else has written and dancing someone elses dance.
Whereas I think rock/metal/indie/ bands that write their own music, write their own lyrics, and organise the way they perform deserve alot of credit, as they've worked alot harder. Don't get me wrong, the artists that are dancing around at the same time as singing work hard too, but they haven't had to write their songs most of the time or do that bit before singing a song, it's generally given to them on a plate; they're just told how to sing it, told where to stand on stage and shown how to dance.

That's my opinon anyways.

Elvis never wrote his own songs.

I have a horrible feeling you are probably dead right.

My point exactly. He was successful through other peoples hard work. Someone else wrote his songs, organised performances, etc. and yet he got all the credit. However, in those days; albums weren't dubbed and edited as much as today - so I can at least credit him for having talent.

Leo Sayer, however wrote and sang some fantastic pop records.

True... but i think sometimes it's all to do with the era, We're in an ere at the moment where everything is so mass produced and scripted that it's hard to tell what's from the artist and what's from a production company; which is wrong.

I agree that it is a very boring song, but other than that, it's okay - it's certainly not as annoying as other Leona Lewis songs (or, at least, other songs I attribute to Leona Lewis). There are loads of songs that I would would say are worse than this song, although I probably couldn't name then off of the top of my head - I'd have to have a list.

The internal soul of your CD player was reaching out to save you from a terrible fate Viv. It sacrificed itself to preserve you from destruction. Never has a CD player shown greater love, loyalty and fealty than this. RIP Viv's CD player, you set the standard which all CD players should look up to and follow.

Console, I had you down as a man of impeccable taste and style as well, I'm disappointed! :D

Boring is pretty much the worst thing that any piece of music can be really but this goes beyond that. It takes all the worst bits of bland, formulaic ballads, the like of which Westlife hawk about and takes it to new lows. It's a shame as she can obviously sing but as Chris said this morning, if she's going to be saddled with rubbish like that for her career then she may as well head for the nearest cruise ship.

I can understand the words, that automatically puts it ahead or a hell of lot of songs out now-a-days. That said, I won't be going out of my way to listen to it again; actually, it's more likely that I'll go out of my way to not listen to it again.
