The big difference, I always think, between typing and saying things is that when you are typing (or texting), you can start to say some really nasty things when you're pissed off, but you can delete it before you send. You don't have that luxury when you're speaking, if you say something you'll regret in the heat of the moment, there's no going back.

I agree with what you're saying, however, at least if you're verbalizing something you can adjust your tone to get your point across whereas if you type the very same thing the person on the reading end may not understand sarcasm, etc. (which, come to think of it, appears to be an issue lately on here).

I have grown up in Scotland and find it a lovely place to live. I am Scottish and proud of that fact. Gotta admit though - Italy's shape is cool.
