I agree with Foots, i don't really find him funny at all.

Jimmy carr is probably my favourite comedian closely followed by Tim Vine.

A chauffeur? That's a french word! YOUR A DRIVER! DONT F*CK ABOUT!

(All Murray quote!)

I have a subtle feeling that you are about to argue with me here, but seriously - Al Murray?

Why is he funny?

I think it's fairly reasonable to say that I have a decent sense of humour, and even things like Scott Mills, I can say "ok, i don't find it funny, but I can understand why others do". Al Murray though...?

Same applies to Harry Hill.

Not arguing, just replying. I dont know why he's funny, i just find him funny. Same goes for Lee Evans, Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness.

I did used to find Harry Hill quite funny, but not really anymore.

Who do you like Foots?

I've yet to see Paddy McGuinness be funny when he's not working with Peter Kay.

Ross Noble is ace.

I've no problem with Peter Kay and to a lesser extent Paddy McGuinness, although as Topher says - i've not seen him do anything funny without Mr Kay. He has a stand up gig, I think but I've not seen it.

Bill Baillie is very talented and has a very different sort of show to others (alhough I felt let down when I saw his gig in Glasgow last year), Ricky Gervais is alright, but it's very scripted - when he came on stage at the Diana concert last year (or live 8, whichever one it was) and it went tits up... a good comedian should be able to keep going on any subject regardeless of whither they have prepared for it or not.

I'm warming to Jimmy Carr - I used to be of the opinion that he just had a good memory and could remember jokes well therefor anyone with a good memory could do his gig. However, having heard him on Moyles a few times, he is pretty quick witted as well and just because he tells one liners - he is still funny, so I like him.

Ross Noble is good, my mates are big fans of him.

Billy Connolly is my all time favourite though. He did a sketch when he was younger called The Crucifixion which was that the bible had a massive mis-print in it and that Jesus wasn't in Galilee, he was in Gallowgate (an area of Glasgow, near the cross... get it??). It probably wouldn't mean anything to you foreigners, but to me, tis very amusing.

Lee Evans is automatically terrible since he stole one of Billy's gags. I didn't like him much before then either though - I found him very tiring to watch. The man sweats way too much as well.

I quite like watching the stand up comedy shows you get on Paramount Comedy style tv channels - unknown comedians can be pretty funny.

It depends if it's an argument or an actual fight. Argument, I'd win because there is no doubting Howard's lack of talent. Physically you'd kick my arse.

I agree, his standup and radio work is different to his guest appearances.

It's like judging Chris Moyles purely from watching his TV appearances and never listening to his radio stuff...

I can. "Color."I can spell "honor" as well. Any other words you people unnecessarily stuff a vowel into??
I can also spell "apologize" and "criticize" with "zeds" rather than an "s."
That said, I don't have an accent so I've gotten the short end of the stick :(

I'm going to resist a rant at Cal's post, I've had too much beer for that.

But Charla, I do remember having this exact argument with you before, I think we concluded that I was right? Same ol'.

Rant away, young Bonan. My teasing was a reply to Toph's. However, if you care to step in, have a go after you re-read the initial posts

At least you pronounce the letter 'z' as 'zed', not 'zee'.

Were the eight or nine hundred exclamations marks warranted by the comment that preceded them?

Guhhuh - like a big comedy train... yah just here it coming ;)!

Oh and HI everyone - I'm new to the forums although I'm a loooong time fan of the show! :D

Got to say I agree with charlalottie too - Russell Howards radio offerings are much better than his Mock the weeks contributions. That said I quite like him on that too. Not seen his stand up yet though!

I took them off. You'd already seen them. Don't you remember? You used them for your groundless assumption that I have an accent, silly.

Haha! Now I'm tempted to say "S4 is paranoid." No. I took them off a few weeks back and am suddenly grateful for my foresight
