Totally agree, weren't too keen when tuffers took over. He was great as a guest but not as a team captain.

Brilliant guest, but not all the time as it was near the time he became a captain. That was the beginning of the end. He was an ok captain, but nowhere near the standard of what it was. Lee Hurst was pretty good on their aswell.

The autocue messed up, so he was trying to ad-lib (allbeit badly) - which made him look more drunk than he was.

Sharon was such a rude old hag to him with no respect. Vic Reeves is a comedy legend and it was a shame to see him being sworn at by her.

How do you know the auto-cue messed up?

TIAL wrote:Vic Reeves is a comedy legend

Morecambe and Wise - comedy legends
Ronnie Barker - comedy legend
Tommy Cooper - comedy legend
Les Dawson - comedy legend
Laurel and Hardy - comedy legends

Now I like Reeves and Mortimer; I liked Shooting Stars (the first incarnation) and a lot of other stuff they did, but the word "legend" is used far, far too often nowadays.

Yup, I do see your point. I suppose I should always say 'in my opinion' before any statement I make but then that can get a bit tedius.
To be honest Vic Reeves has influenced me more than those 5 great acts you mentioned. I genuinley think that my parents showing me shooting stars every week as well as his other stuff with Bob had a huge influence on the warped sense of humor I now have ;)

Comedy legend was probably the wrong turn of phrase to use, and thanks for pointing that out :)
He's definitley one of my comedy heroes though :D

Alot of my friends don't find him funny whatsoever, so I can see where you're coming from :D

I used to love Shooting Stars, and even that show when one was a ghost (I forget the name), but having seen more of Vic on his own, he is in fact, a twat.
