madhorse, let me tell you that trying to argue whether Dominic BYRNE is a valuable asset or not to the Chris Moyles Show , on this board, is a waste of time.

Madhorse, you're of course entitled to your opinion. Whether you like it or not, Dominic is a part of the team dynamic. Not everyone likes the same qualities in people and though he clearly annoys you, many others find him hilarious.

Dom is an integral part of the team, and has been ever since they started on breakfasts. He was handpicked by Chris to join the team, and in my opinion is the funniest of the lot!

madhorse52, at least you are making some sort of sense this time (not much, but more so than the last time you graced us with your presence).. however, you use false statements to back up your unpopular arguments.

It's kind of true Madhorse (although I would have said your statements were non-evident rather than false perhaps) - there's nothing wrong with holding a minority and unpopular opinion, but if you want to discuss it, you need to be a bit more studied in your style or people will just dismiss it.

If you want your opinion to be respected, you need to make it sound as though you have a valid reason for holding it, and explain that reason. People will probably still not agree, but they'll respect your opinion. As it is, you just sound a bit thick to be honest.

Most good comedians need a straight man to bounce off of. Dom is not that funny but if it was just chris and dave it would get a bit stale. They need others to create a bit of atmosphere

Dom is ok in small doses i suppose , if youve got kids and in your mid thirties you prob find him funny but some of us dont. And if someone can tell me what carrie brings to the table then i would be very appreciative

I don't think they, or a team off any other show, "walk on water"... however, they are very, very good.. I would class as high as nine out of 10 of their shows as being excellent.

That said, despite having more than 5000 posts, if I don't like something on R1 (which isn't often), I would say so.

However, you are on a fansite, so to expect a whole load of abuse towards Moyles is somewhat unrealistic, no?

You haven't read much of this site, have you?! We have a reputation (understandably perhaps) of being highly over-critical of the show on here.

I used to find Carrie excruciatingly annoying. She still has her moments I think, but her input has calmed down in the last year or so, and I find I don't mind her so much now. I'm not her biggest fan. I do like Dom, but I can understand why people might not quite get him. He is very subtle and the show moves quite fast - his humour is easily overlooked or misinterpreted, but it is very much there.

As for the show getting stale - I think it's picked up again recently. Middle part of last year it got a bit dull, and I wondered if it was on a downhill slope, but it's sounding good at the moment I think. The format is pretty resilient.

Well moyles must value him. He is part of the on air team. He moved with chris when the show moved. Occsionally Aled,dom,rachel ,and even dave get a little up themselves but they ususlly settle down again.

I would find it difficult to reconcile being a fan with posting critical rather personal comments.

I for one don't think any of the team walk on water, but I find Dom very funny. It's the dead pan of his delivery that makes him funny in my opinion. For a while he and Chris were keeping the show going, whilst Dave seemed to be no more than a passenger. This seems to have changed now though with Dave back on form. What I think is impressive is the way he seems to slip very quickly and easily from having a laugh in the studio to serious news stuff. A great voice for radio news. As for Carrie, I find her unbearable, she's like the posh kid at school trying way too hard to fit in.
