Yudster wrote:Not diabetes, no - but for a variety of indirectly linked reasons, I can't have sugar at the moment. There is an element of choice about it, it won't kill me or anything, but it will possibly cause a few problems I'd rather not have to deal with. So having made my choice, I have to try to face the brownies with equanimity.

You pregnant?

Funny, my mum said almost the exact same thing when I asked her that about three years ago.

It was a figure of speech. I think most people have had enough after three, if not before.

He's laughing at how it makes me uncomfortable when he makes direct comparisons between me and his mother.

Haha, especially now my mother is a granny.

Might not be long before you are, Yudster!

Theoretically it might not. But if I am, the poor child will have to grow up with a maximum of one living parent.

given advice, presumably not what was wanted to be heard.

or perhaps having to wait 9 hours to see someone as they haven't got an appointment system, as they are volunteers and run by twats.

Basically as with most dog problems its the fault of the owners! She's a mega hyper dog anyway but the missus spoils her and does everything it says your not supposed to do with a dog. Feeds her from her plate, let's her sleep on the bed, let's her jump on the sofa etc and the vet thinks that it's now got to the stage where she's becoming protective of her. He also said I'm vein marginalised but I don't mind that as I'm a pushover anyway. He says she is trying to become top dog and showing it by trying to defend her.

Apparently she doesn't try to defend me cos she just sees me as a part of the furniture, like a chair that moves around of something.

Anyway he's put her on Prozac just to chill her out a bit, she won't be sleepy or anything, she'll still be excited about everything but just in a really chilled out way.

I've just realised I've got the dog version of Mark Ronson!

foot-loose wrote:Went to see 'I Am Legend' last night. Every time something bad was about to happen on screen, the girl beside me said (in quite a quiet voice) 'ohh nooo'. It got very distracting.

I saw this tonight.

Aside from what I actually thought of the film, does anyone know if the Doctor Krippen (from the film) / Doctor Crippen (from real life) connection is intentional or coincidental? The former, I'd have thought, but just wondering if anyone knew.

People who treat their dogs like this should have them taken away. It's ultimately as cruel as beating them or neglecting them. Your dog doesn't need prozac, it needs to be treated like a dog.

I know this, you know this, the whole world knows this. My missus however doesn't. She watches endless tv programmer and reads books about how to properly treat a dog and then does the exact opposite.

Everyone says that when you come home you greet people in order of priority, spouse first, then kids, then pet and that you should spend a good 5 minutes with each person before moving on to the pet. She comes home, says hi to me then plays with muffin before sitting down with the dog on her lap and watches tv while I make her a cup of tea and I end up watching tv from the floor.

A definite shift in dominance is needed in my house I think with ME at the top!

See, for someone who dreams of "world dominance", or whatever the hell it is you dream of, you are bottom of the ladder in your own home.

Hmm and how do you plan to implement this? You don't strike me as the dominant type.

Jeez Andy, get some balls man! If you can't stop her from ruining that little dog's life, then get rid of the dog to someone who will look after it properly!
