The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Wow. What's it like being wrong?

Wrongy wrong wrong.

It means you have to put up with a lot of people disagreeing with you. I'll live!

I agree with all of that, and while I agree with the news bit, I think it's for a different reason. I don't like Chris interrupting the news because I usually skip over the news, which means that I'll miss funny conversations and the like.

:-) I don't get your "news thing" though. The news is all doom & gloom anyway. I don't see why there can't be a quick "happy section" at the end of the news, where we could hear something positive for a change.

Yeah i think the main boss of Radio 1 has had a word.

I agree with Yudwuk except for the news bit. I read the news on the BBC web site and watch it on the telly so a few funny interruptions in what is otherwise a highly patronising bit of reporting (that's not Dominic's fault) is quite welcome.

Car Park Catchphrase was good, but I found it had become very repetitive, especially at the end. It's the problem with any feature that's on during every show, eventually it becomes stale. I also find that regular listener competitions become stale much faster than other features. One off competitions, like that Italian quiz that utterly failed some time back, can work really well, even when they don't work at all. What I like about the CMS is the spontaneity, the lack of structure, the chat, the rants - I find that regular features generally detract from this.

I never really liked it much. I prefer the one off things like when someone has a good Guess Who, or they randomly decide to play two word tango for no apparent reason.

I kinds agree with console on this in that everything becomes stale after a while and I DO love the randomness and the banter and the off the cuff Two Word Tango games. Oh and I never loved CPC either, I liked it but never loved it.

Maybe I'm just trying to find reasons why I'm not as obsessive over the show as I used to be, maybe it's me that's changed although I seem the same to me! It's been ages since I listened to a show from start to finish. I think I need a holiday, I definately need a drink.

Yes thats all very true, but I did find many excellent clippings in your collection of that feature from 2 years before they rested it, I think its probably the king of all features. Moyles said it was down for 6 weeks! Before Blue Peter went and ruined our fun, I was enjoying CPC just as much as ever - Roy came into his own with his cheeky quips. However you feel about the feature it sure isn't as good in the last half hour anymore.

Viaduct was the best feature ever.* I do agree with Console though, about regular features.

*This is not a request to bring Viaduct back, I realise they tried it and it didn't work and going back to old features would be a backward step.

I don't imagine many people do listen all the way through the Breakfast show - for me, my radio comes on at 6am so I hear 25 minutes or so of what sounds more and more like Scott Mills' show every day - then the cheesy song starts. I'm in the car by 7.30, but mostly at work by 8, so unless there's something I really really really want to hear (when I would use listen again), thats usually all I get of the show. I reckon it's fairly typical. I do love it when I get the chance to listen later though, the feeling definitely changes after 8.30, it somehow gets even more relaxed, if that's possible, and I really like it.

The only bits of the show i miss is when im about to get in my car for work, which i make sure i do just as a song has started, and when i get to work, which i then get out of my car either during the news or during a song. So yeah, i listen to the whole show.

I know I want get any joy on this site but the show is getting worse .... it's getting as bad as ediths!!!

If it was that bad, how come Chris just added 300,000 + listeners recently?

I think Steve is really Aled in disguise although Console and his CIA like knowledge of the interweb will probably put paid to that idea!

Me? I've not noticed that particularly. The one who only ever posts in order to have a go at me is McQueen.
