Was wondering which noises really annoy you? Or frighten you even?

I get really annoyed by the drills at the Dentist. And also sirens really annoy me.

I have a police siren for when Mrs Topher calls me. It's quite amusing to see people's reactions.

My most hated noise in the world is sellotape peeling, or (the worst), parcel tape because it's louder. Nails down a blackboard I have no problem with, but sellotape has the same effect on me as nails down a blackboard do on some.

Yep, parcel tape is annoying. Another one I hate is mobile 'phones in libraries. I'm trying to concentrate and create great topics, and some idiot is having some inane conversation beside me. A few weeks ago, someone was eating Black Magic chox at the library, and I actually had to threaten to inform the librarian unless I could have some of the chox. It's ridiculous.

I guy I work with chews chewing gum so loudly, smacking his lips. It drives me insane, and I have the urge to punch him in the back of the head! I seriously have to leave the office at that point. Surely as a kid you're taught to not make animal type noises when eating, and to keep your mouth closed?

Apparently I "bite the spoon" when I eat my dessert. It annoys my mum immensely.

I can't stand listening to people whose voices sound like they constantly need to clear their throat. Makes me want to shake them until they do something about it - "Cough dammitt, cough!!!"

a few of the public radio announcers here sound like that and i hate it. i imagine myself scooping out their mouths with a spoon and then all of a sudden they sound normal.

my brother does this and i don't get it!!!! it's so gross and you know it tastes terrible.

i hate most mouth noises though- smacking the lips, gurgles, eating with your mouth open, wheezing, lots of stuff. it's a little over the top, i'll admit.

i also hate hearing people have sex in the room next to mine. i get it! you're having an orgasm! i haven't had to put up with that since i moved out of student housing. stupid hotels.

Well, yes. But I am more likely to associate it with a pub chain.

Fair play to you. Why not associate it with the american actress in the pub chain?
