Well if we'll add Futurama then you have to add Family Guy. I love Stewie but everyone else on that show makes my eye twitch.

Technically Futurama and Family Guy are cartoons, but threads like these traditionally go back to yester-year.

Stoppit and Tidyup. I have mentioned this on several occasions before, but it's still excellent.

Also: "This is a story about an ordinary teddy bear...
When he was made, they found something wrong with him...
And threw him away like a piece of rubbish into an old dark storeroom..
Then, from outer space, a spotty man, brought him to life with his cosmic dust!

He took him to a magic cloud where Mother Nature gave him special powers...
That bear became SuperTed!"

Right but since Lottie brought up Futurama I had to throw Stewie into the mix.

I want to add the old Winnie the Pooh specials, The Velveteen Rabbit (it still makes me cry) and Rikki Tikki Tavi -- even though technically those are all films that were shown on television.

I always had a problem with Dogtanian (and lots of others of the same ilk) in that I think it was originally made in a alnguage other than English, and the English dialogue was dubben on afterwards - and because the action was fitted around the original dialogue, the English dialogue sounds all wrong, with wrong emphasis and rushed in places, no pauses where there should be pauses, stuff like that. Just sounds wrong.

I can't remember what it was called but there used to be a cartoon on ITV about 15 years ago (maybe a little more) - the theme song was by Mike Batt, and the lyric was something like "Better than a dream, stranger than your wild imagination, this is a strange sensation, its better than a dream" - I loved that, it was beautiful and heartwarming and the theme tune made me cry. Mind you, I had post-natal depression then, pretty much anything made me cry. What was it called? Anybody?

I liked the ones with Scrappy Doo.

I had a feature length one on video called (I think) Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School. I loved it. The other lot (Freddy and that) weren't in it, I think I preferred it that way.

Scrappy Doo should have been put down. He was an abomination.

I think I can remember the theme tune. I liked the dog guy with the big ears flying around in a little plane thing. I'm pretty sure he played piano.

Not actually a cartoon but another great kids programme was "round the twist" with the great theme tune:

"Have you ever, ever felt like this! With strange things happening, are you going round the twist"

What about the Racoons, that was pure class, Alvin and the Chipmunks too. Currently Animania is also very watchable !

Bagpuss though I think is my all time favorite animation. It just took you in when you were young, brilliant.

No-one has identified my cartoon yet, and I still can't remember what it was called.

Topher you are the only person in the world to think so. Even HB decided he was a little shite which was emphasised in the Scooby Doo Movie where Scrappy is the baddie!

Ha. In Chris' "TV Theme Tune Fun" in yesterday's show he said that he always hated Scrappy Doo :)
He and Dom said that Scrappy was always very * and arrogant and he wanted Scooby to beat him to a pulp! I love it!!
