Last nite I switched on bbc2 to watch Top Gear and the darts championship was running late. As the camera panned over the crowd I saw a chap holding up a sign which clearly said I AM THE MEAT. Why?? It's bugging me. I googled the phrase "I am the meat" but I can only find Moyles references, nothing to do with darts. Baffled.

I heard them talking about the darts yesterday morning, but that was after the final in which the sign was held up, so that can't be the cause of the sign. Did they discuss the darts before the final and I missed it?

i am the meat was something dave said to his gf when he was wrapped up in a duvet - like a sausage roll. this was mentioned on air a good few months ago. this will be why someone had the sign. hope this helps.

It is quite flattering really, but much to the amusement of everyone else at work he always tries to crack onto me when we've all had a beer! He likes a 'bear' it would seem..........!
