Hello,

The BBC have given to my knoledge have given ODEON cinemas, (last week W/C: 26.11) some promo's for The Chris Moyles show and The Mighty Boosh. The Mighty Boosh trailer is the full series three trail which is used on the BBC THREE and BBC TWO.

The Chris Moyles show trail is Chris and Dave talking to Don LaFontaine (who has done over 5000 movie trailers) and corrects him on lines such as:

DON: After the Chris Moyles show there will be silence.....
DAVE: Well not really Jo's on after us.

DON: Two men...
CHRIS: Not really.. there is DOM, RACHEAL ..CARRIE..

DON: The Chris Moyles Show on Radio Oune.
CHRIS: It's one..
DON: Oune.
CHRIS: It's radio one...not oune.

Then finishes with the big film ending with the BBC Radio One ident.. (Throughout the whole advert it's a blank screen).

..This is the advert from memory.

I can imagine that actually and think it'd be really funny. Can someone not clip this (I know it'd be realy difficult, can you imagine being chucked out of a cinema with a camcorder protesting "I was recording the adverts!")?

But they're advertising a radio show, what would be the point of pictures?

Maybe they think that people who go to the cinema might sometimes want to listen to the radio too.

Although not at the same time. That would be annoying.

Because people who go to cinema can also listen to radio (just not at the same time i'd imagine). They can't very well advertise their show on another radio......hang on that'd be a brilliant idea.

Get adverts for the CMS played out during Christian O Connel!

But what I mean is if you want to advertise a radio show in a cinema (nothing wrong with it), make it visually arresting too, seeing as you go to the cinema to see films, not listen solely to their audios.

Chris explained the audio only nature of the advert the other day. He said that they had run out of time and just did it as audio only for speed.

See if you had risen from the bottom to be at the top of your proffession, then someone came along and asked if you would like an advert in the cinema which is not going to do anything except make you bigger than you already are... would you not say yes as well?

I would.

He means the BBC have implanted some Odeon cinemas in his brain apparently, possibly some old ones at that. At least that's how I read that statement anyway.
