I have a message up at the top of each page (beside the "user control panel" link) telling me that I have four new messages. When I click on it, it takes me to the latest read messages in my inbox. I don't have any messages pending and I have tried clearing my temp files.

I think the forum is lying to me, however it makes me look popular so I'm not too fussed.

Any of the admin got any clues?

Are any of your PM boxes full? If they are then the forum will put the new messages on hold until you make some room.

My sent items was full, i've cleared that but there isn't an option to clear the 4 new messages thing.

I know what you mean about putting them on hold, but I don't think it is that...

Have you unqueued the four new messages to your inbox yet? If you haven't then you'll have to go to your inbox and click on the link that says something like 'release onhold messages'.

On the subject of PMs, is anyone else's profile set to pop-up a PM notification and have they stopped getting said pop-up? I've checked my setting hasn't changed and I've checked my pop-up blocker excludes this site. It's possibly since the last board upgrade, I couldn't be certain though.

I've just done a bit of testing, and I now apparently have 2 new messages, despite having no unread messages in my inbox; looks like it's a bug in phpBB3.

On the subject of PMs, is anyone else's profile set to pop-up a PM notification and have they stopped getting said pop-up?

I stopped getting them ages ago, but I put it down to my security settings to stop popups.

It's the link to release PM from their oh-hold status, but it also should have the board re-calculate the unread PM's in your inbox.

Console, i can get on the chatroom but no text box or who is in chat box is there just the big box in the middle where what people say appear. It worked when i first went on the chatroom whilst at college but now it doesn't. Have they blocked something?

Oh it's ok i tried it on IE instead of Firefox.

What can you see? If you can see anything then it's not being blocked, as it's all just one big applet. Try refreshing the page and see what happens.

Edit: This problem has been solved now; it was a problem with the Flash plugin not being good enough (as if any Flash plugin would ever be good enough).
