The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I can connect with that, I emphasise with capitals sometimes - I have never quite understood TESCO though.

You can use bbCode to italicise, embolden or both to place emphasis without seeming like you're shouting.

I do think you should sort out your RAGE problem though.

I do the "TESCO" thing , because the sign outside the shop and at the top of all their products is always in CAPITALS.

What rage problem? I'm feeling quite calm, although slightly silly this morning.

.........I'm trying, but actually I can't see much wrong with that line of reasoning!

I'm sure Viv wouldn't be alone in having that reaction to Mrs Beckham.

I think there's plenty of evidence on these boards to suggest that your RAGE is sparked by many things, not just Mrs Beckham!

Isn't it the same line of reasoning with kids today writing 'could of', or 'would of' instead of 'could have'/'could've' and 'would have'/'would've' etc. They only hear the phrases in their contracted forms (where 've sounds like of) and with some misinterpretation come to think that the '* of' forms are correct. The same is true with this Tescos thing, Viv has only seen the word written in capitals and so believes that it should be written that way, ignoring the rules of the English language.

Yeah, I hate Visual Basic too, such a crap language. Unless you were referring to vBulletin, in which case I still don't like it, especially the crappy template system.

I meant, Victoria Beckham... stop trying to be difficult.

I don't necessarily believe (like some kid) that TESCO should be written that way. I just like the way it looks when written that way.

That's quite an assumption, would it not also be reasonable to think that rather than just continually making a mistake, she is actually choosing to represent this name in this way, knowing perfectly well that it isn't necessary to do so? Viv strikes me as a very visually motivated person, she responds very straightforwardly to what she sees around her, when she writes "Tesco" in her visually-orientated mind she sees "TESCO" - so she chooses to capitalise it. Why not? Or I could be misrepresenting her appallingly, in which case, sorry viv!

I do indeed have a "visually-orientated" mind.

Every time, I see Console's name, I think of Kermit The Frog.

In a Muppets related conversation last week, I was compared to one of Waldolf and Statler; I'm not sure which of the Muppets they are, so is being Kermit any better?
