Medication sounds a good idea to me. Or perhaps a good b.u.m facial will do the trick instead.

Good luck today Heather. Clara. Heather. Whoever you are today.

I'm smiling today because the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day and there is a massive tidal surge expected along the Essex coast (amongst other places) which might just wipe out my office, as I am just metres from a tidal estuary. On the downside, the Environment Agency (**spits**) have warned of "serious risk to life", which hopefully will not happen. Good luck to anyone who is at risk today, I'm sure it'll be ok - but as far as this stretch of the tidal Colne is concerned, bring it on!!!!!!!

Colne is a place near Preston, right?

Quite possibly. But it is also a river with a large estuary on the Essex coast.

I'm smiling because I have one of my days off, and I am on the loose in Glasgow. I am shopping and going to get my hair cut at noon, which will cheer me up no end!! :-) Then I plan to see a French movie, followed by a trip to the pool and hot tubs.

What do you mean what kind of French movies? Whatever is current complete with subtitles basically. Two cinemas now show them. Like the joke, Foots :-)

I know. I was inferring that you actually were going to see said film, thus, it was not a joke.

A friend of mine has popped into my office to say hello, and we are having a giggle. The thing that's really making me smile though is that here she is happy and well and excited about Christmas and moving to Dorset next year, and only a few months ago everyone thought she was going to die. She didn't, and she is better, so that makes me smile.

That's excellent news! I know people who have been diagnosed as terminal before, with only months to live... the most notable one was nine years ago and he's still here today.

Sometimes, it's nice when the doctors get it wrong.

The doctors got it right actually, she was waiting for a kidney transplant, she got bumped up the list this time last year because her condition deteriorated (and the live donor she had lined up backed out) and was given one that wasn't a very good match, and it failed in February. At that point, they had to not only find another kidney for her, but get her and then keep her well enough to have it transplanted. That was the touch and go bit. Since she had the second transplant, she's got better and better. She's my sister's friend really, but I got to know her because her little boy is the same age as Baby Yudster, and when she was very ill her lad used to come and stay with us to give her and her husband a break. Another reason to smile.
