Since someone is moaning in another thread about how the breakfast show isnt as good as it used to be blah blah, can you think of any new features that they could do to maybe spruce things up a bit?

Obviously they are still restricted with competitions, but i still think that people enjoy playing along at home even though they can't phone or text in and take part on air. I still think that Rob DJs pub quiz is a crackin wee feature with plenty of play along potential.

If you can't think of a feature then what about a name for one? You come up with the name and someone else works out the game. From memory, thats where the genius that was "Fire At Will" came from.

Ok, The team send their Sports News Reader to a wholesale store, and get her to buy as much alcohol as she can for £50, in the brand new feature - 'Cash n Carrie'

The team get their news reader to bleach the toilets (well it's not brilliant, but it's the best I can do for a feature called 'Dom Estos'.

play 7 songs all mixed up and you have to guess them
Phone up people in America with Names like Randy * Whore
Have some Gay toss on reviewing films every day.

I like this idea, Ginger Auburn, (or burn) you have to name a celebrity and say whether they are Ginger or not, if you get it wrong then you are set fire too, and you have stop drop and roll.

I really think also that following the success of the Golden hour Chris should resurrect some old one like the Darts this DLT did.

New feature:

"Insect Alert" - where a random member of the team has a rubber insect dangled in front of them (from a spider to an octopus, etc.), and they have to guess what the beast is.

Viv

How can I put this without seeming pedantic?

Think about a spider, and think about an Octopus, and you refer to them both as insects ?

Can you see ?

The octopus is a cracking creature. Very intelligent, for what seems to be a blob of goo.

(Notice that I left it as a singular octopus as I have no idea what you call several of them - 1 octopus / 12 octopusses? Octopie? or does it stay as 12 octopus?)

Yeah, but it's like saying stadia, instead of stadiums - only Eton students and Radio 4 announcers bother.

A 'beast' is usually a hairy mammal, although it can technically be any animal.

Yeah, apparently if you hold them captive, they actively work out ways to escape.

Actually, 'Octopuses' (no double 's' foot-loose) is also an acceptable pluralisation for 'Octopus'.

it's octupi. I did Latin at school.

Ok, I said it's 'also acceptable' meaning both are right, but as you brought it up again, 'octopi' is actually considered to be a false pluralisation, and 'Octopuses' to be the correct one.

I'm sure I read recently about one of those deep sea world places where they couldnt work out how the fish on one side of the aquarium were disappearing every night - there were no predators in the same tank as them. Then they watched on the security tape as the octopus climbed out of its own tank, across the floor, into the other tank, ate the fish, and then went back to its own tank!

I am correct. There are no "puses" in Latin.. you go from us to i. = octupi.
