There is some "nasty" words in this post....

I am not sure how meny of you use the Chatroom but i am still new and I have noticed you get a lot of annoying idiots on there...today was the worst i had seen it... it was full of what seemed to be school girls loads of them all text speaking to each other swearing being abusive starting up rooms named like

"I love *"
"Finger me for £1"
and also
"Rape me"
and the worst
"Scott Mills is amazing"

But i think this is very annoying and if it goes on people who use that Chat room for what it is there for will stop....
And i was wondering is there anything we can do to sort it out, maybe sign in with our own accounts or is there nothing we can do and we are gonna have to Grin and Bear it...

I think someone is going to post some screen grabs as to what it was like...

I dont know if it was rachel, but to be fair she did know simons name and she did say that there was a problem but that is it!!

Hello, I've been away. There are a few things that can be done ... change it so that you can only log into the chatroom with a registered id (this makes it easier to ban people), close the chatroom in the daytime (bye bye school kids) or give the moderator password out more widely so that they can be efficiently removed.

What'dya think?

Hi Chris welcome back. I think maybe the registered Id or the mod password are the better ideas. Some of the kids that come in are really lovely and well behaved it seems a shame to close it for the many when it's the few destroying the fun. It seems that this chatroom is one of the few that haven't been blocked by schools, hence the sudden influx of moronic, bored kids!
Registered ID may deter people who really want to come in and chat and it's
A. a good way to get people to sign up to the forum - they see we're not as mad as Chris sometimes makes out we are
B. a resource for the stupid people who want sound clips and don't know how to look for them on the board.

Right! Password it please Chris! Someone was in there today apparently masquarading as me!!!! They were rude to the others and Topher banned them (Well done Toph) but then I couldn't get in myself! This is now ridiculous!

Scamp, the PM function works well. If it upset you, why broadcast it further? Chris is aware of the issues and will no doubt come up with a way of dealing with them.

Weren't board logins used for the chat room at one point anyway? I think that makes sense myself.

I think they were, yeah. We also had a list of people online in the chatroom integrated into the bottom of the main forum page if I recall correctly (although there may have been performance problems with that).
