Blue Tongue disease is spread by midges, but is not usually found in this country. The current outbreak can be mapped to areas bordering roads beginning at ports where livestock are imported - and the midges are being imported with them. As the cattle are transported, the infectious midges are apparently biting cattle in the fields closest to the roads, spreading the disease in a fairly defined and trackable manner. So maybe magicmidge was imported with a load of cattle and transported to Scotland, hence the relevance of the M8?

Also, this morning, I actually did enjoy the "matt damon" thing.. it was done on a military base this morning. The listener doing it was well gone... really funny! I burst out laughing on the train, causing the guy across from me to glare slightly.. oops.
