ok so I finished it last night and here are my thoughts. It won't be as long as Chris's review and I promise not to give stuff away.

The first thing I notice about it is that it appears to be double line spaced which actually makes it look about double the length it is. The jacket does Chris no favours either, gross colours and the pic makes him look like Mr Potato Head. However never judging things by appearance I read it anyway.

You can tell Chris wrote it, his voice emanates from every sentence and it's written in a free style that is easy to read and very conversational. He says in the opening paragraphs that he wants it to be a toilet book, one you can pick up and put down, dip into at will and he's certainly managed that. You don't need to be a big reader to enjoy it. You need to be interested in what motivates Chris and what his slant is on loads of different situations but you don't need to read it all in one go.

There are amusing anecdotes, bits of diaries, little insights into both the show and Chris and generally his thoughts on life, the universe and everything really. I think I did myself no favours by reading it in two sittings, I got a little bored and had to put it down but was drawn back to read it again the next day.

Is it funny? - Yes, in places so hilarious I cried laughing
Is it better than the last one? - Yes he has learnt a lot of lessons in how to write (in my opinion)
Is it a must for all Moyles fans? - Not really but it is a great book for anyone who wants a laugh or enjoys the show.

Anyway read it and enjoy it, read it and hate it, or don't bother at all. I enjoyed it.

Do you know, I think I've done one of those three things to every book ever written.

S4B -- thank you! :D
Haven't gotten it yet and am now really looking forward to reading it. There were some parts in the last book that had me laughing until I cried so this ought to be great. Appreciate the review!!

did anyone go to the first book signing last year? i'm thinking of going to the cardiff signing and was wondering what to expect? do you think he will sign the first book as well as the second? do you think i would be able to get a photo with him? any help would be appreciated, just trying to work out if its worth travelling 2 hours and taking a sick day to do it!

You will get morons, students and a few sane people trying to hide from the other two groups.

I reckon he will sign the first if you get the second as well. Also Topher got a photo with him I think...

Hello I was at the Leeds book signing last year he posed for pictures with everyone and signed 2 copies for people in the queue. I was about 100th or so in the queue and it took me about an hour to get to the front once he began signing.

I can highly reccomend the audio book of 'The Difficult Second Book'. Although having not read it on actual paper, I think the audio would be more entertaining having Moyles actually read it to you. (ie his voices for people he knows, such as Rachel!)

I bought the audio book of the last one as well as the hard cover of the last one & was rather pleased I had both. The audio makes good entertainment when you're on a plane (that as well as the podcasts) and don't feel like reading!

Darn, I sent my mother out today whilst at school to get the book, its been a rather busy day so I had forgotten until I got home and saw it lying there in a WHSmith bag with recipt (£8.99 of course) This perked me up. I cant wait to read it as I did enjoy the first and it didnt take me too long to read, however think that I will have difficulty finding time to read it, I shall make time though :)
I'm rather annoyed at myself for not reading here first to discover that some people managed to get it on the 30th and not wait until the 4th (which is when it was said it'd be released on here I believe)
I like the look of it already by S4's review which is highly likely to be accurate, I'm also glad its funny. It'll be a good read I'm sure :)

i got it from iTunes Music Store,.....it is really good and funny,

He has got all the Jingles, Sound Effects, He does Voices for his team and Family, and Girlfriend..and i think it is really funny hearing the sarcasm in his voice.

I read the first one and i sort of drifted out of it, and then i brought the audio book and it was better but he didnt have all the sound effects and stuff,

But i really enjoyed the second one on Audio, Really funny, almost like listening to the show. Almost

I think next i will Get Peter Kays, hopfully it will be good on audio, i have read the book and found soooo god damn funnnyyyy

Only 78th in the amazon chart and some scathing reviews on there. Looks like it was a difficult second book.
