Radio One has announced new schedules which come in to effect from 12 October 2007. The most interesting change (unless you're a fan of JK and Joel, in which case you'll be sad to know that they are being let go) is that Chris will now be starting from 06:30 each morning!

I will miss JK and Joel as they wake me up every morning when the alarm goes off at 5 but another 30mins of your show - great news! Im in India listening at the moment online so its great.

Have JK and Joel been "let go" or have they chosen to leave? They are great, its hard to see why Radio 1 would push them. Certainly the reports I read suggested it was their decision, not Radio 1s. But then maybe they would say that....?

I would say a bit of both - they are clearly not in demand at Radio 1 because they never cover for scott anymore - maybe because of their TV stuff - and they aren't going to move up in the daytime schedule for a long time yet so it was most likely frustration on their part

I don't think JK and Joel ever made the impact Radio 1 hoped. When they were brought in I think the definite plan was for them to take over that breakfast show.

That being said I bet Demonhorse isn't far wrong on the reason as well.
