Info is up on Radio1 online about Radio1's Birthday celebrations from the 17th to 30th September

Radio 1 Established 1967 celebrates 40 years of Radio 1. The merrymaking commences on Monday 17th September culminating in a special day of shows on September 30th, the day Radio 1 launched.
A full day of shows featuring current DJs joined by legendary Radio 1 DJs will be the highlight of Radio 1 Established 1967, kicking off with a very special Breakfast Show featuring Chris Moyles and Tony Blackburn and finishing with 'Keeping it Peel' hosted by Elijah Wood.

Sunday 30th September Schedule
7am - 10am: Chris Moyles & Tony Blackburn
10am - 1pm: Vernon Kay featuring other Radio 1 Breakfast Show presenters
1pm - 4pm: Sara Cox & Zoe Ball
4pm - 7pm: The Chart Show with JK & Joel
7pm - 9pm: Annie & Annie Request Show
9pm - 10pm: Documentary - 'The A-Z of Radio 1'
10pm - 12: Keeping It Peel hosted by Elijah Wood

Keep listening for more announcements about Radio 1 Established 1967.

The weekday nights before are going to have special shows hosted by bands including the Arctic Monkeys and Noel Gallagher apparently.

Last time Tony Blackburn co-hosted with Moyles it was quite good I think. The whole show is in the soundvault if anyone wants to hear it.

Anyone want to take bets on the first record that will be played on the show, The Move Flowers in the Rain and Kaiser Chiefs cover of Flowers in the Rain

Why do the first 4 shows revolve around breakfast presenters? (rather than their other shows) - I realise thats a big show but, didnt they have any other legends?

Most of the Radio 1 legends did breakfast at one point or another anyway - although I see what you mean

what part of that is good? take out JK and Joel and I can see how it might be OK.

It would be brilliant if instead of being "Paul Weller" it was "The Jam plus Style Council's First Album But Nothing After That, But Mostly The Jam".

I haven't liked most of his recent stuff, I'm sad to say. I'll trust you on the prat thing, I don't really know anything about him outside music.
