Changes have been made to the server this morning to bring the forum under the chrismoyles.net domain, rather than having it hosted at chrismoyles.co.uk addresses. This has involved making changes to DNS settings (the things that map the 'names' to 'numbers' when you enter a web address), however these changes don't happen instantly - and don't happen at the same time for everyone.

Soon any requests made to chrismoyles.co.uk will automatically redirect to the same URL on the chrismoyles.net domain, however this cannot be put in place until the DNS change has fully propegated otherwise some people would not be able to access the site.

As a side effect of the above, changes have been made to get the forum ready for the new URL and this could cause you to be logged out. If this happens, please try to access the forum via http://chrismoyles.net/phpBB3 rather than http://chrismoyles.co.uk/phpBB3 and the problem should vanish. If you continue to have problems please click the 'Delete all board cookies' link which you'll find at the bottom of every page in the grey coloured bar and the login once again.

[edit] I've now made the change, people whose DNS hasn't updated will catch us up soon enough. Again, if you have problems you may need to 'Delete all board cookies' and login again, then *hopefully* it'll stay for you.

I think they normally take around 24 hours to propagate fully.

I just had to log in about 6 times and each time it said I had done and my name was appearing as logged in even though I wasn't.

yeah its just when I go elsewhere. It started working again for a few days last week but now its gone again. I am fine on other messageboards.

It sounds like your browser isn't accepting cookies from this site, although the domain change should have sorted that out. If you're using Firefox check under the Preferences -> Privacy -> Cookies -> Exceptions to see if it lists any of the cm.net domains. In Internet Explorer I think it's under Options -> Privacy -> Sites.

None are blocked. Touch wood it seems to be working at the moment (not sure whether I have done owt).

That's a good point, when you are viewing several pages on this site, do you see in the address bar "sid=lots of letters/numbers" on every page? That would confirm Console's theory, cos normally you should only see that on the first or second page you visit that session.

I have to log in at some point each day. I check keep me logged in and can leave the site, come back and it'll be alright for about 24hours then I have to log in again.
