To celebrate Moyles' 10 years at Radio 1 we should do a list for the front of the site of 10 of the best moments (not features or ongoing things) during those years. My suggestions...

1. The invention of "Hello, I'm Listening"
2. Donkey Magic
3. The Kylie refusal

I'm sure there are much better ones...

I love the Cheesy Song, I know it's still on there and happens every day but I do love it!

Aled's Bus Driver moment was hilarious too

This is a tough one. These spring to mind already...

The start of the first breakfast show.
Dave's cheese song.
The moment Will, Lizzie and Dave telling Chris that the live U2 track for his birthday was fake.
The day Chris and Dave poured pot noodle down Aled's back whilst he was blindfolded.
The 80's fudge tunnel clip in the Sound Vault. The funniest 20 minutes Chris ever did.
The spoof Lennox Lewis call

For features... True or False, Viaduct, Car Park Catchphrase, Throwing CD's at the studio clock..

Parodies.. Stanta, Ballad Of Tescos are the best two.

Best show - The Saturday Show and the early bit.

(I say the start of the breakfast show because it was kind of, the "screw you all" moment when he flicked the V's at his critics and everyone who hates him at Radio 1, and you knew he was made for it). When you think about it, how it took them 8 years to put him on Breakfast is ridiculous).

Good idea Gaspode. Of course it will all be a matter of taste, but I reckon we should give it a go. Hello I'm listening is defiantly in there, as is the similar ringing the BBC automatic directory - "Furgus Dudley". I'll take a browse through the sound vault to get my memory going

My choice not so much an item but Chris has certainly brought back the dangerous force of the live debaticle called radio.

He's been told off for swearing, sexual innuendo; he's made fun of the welsh, scots, gays, straights, fats, westcountriers, and westwood.

Trying to change Dave's voice mail will forever be one of my favourite moments.

And the afternoon when they were doing Office Dares.

And at least one of his really major rants, when he really is pissed off about something and has a proper, serious go on air. Thats classic Moyles for me. I'll leave it for one of you people with a better organised mind than I to think about which rant might be superior to the others.

I agree, specifically the time when John came in just as they were doing the item. Great Radio

Wow, this is quite a task!
Picking 10 bad things would be easy, usually consisting of leching over a good looking female celebrity, some of those interviews stank!
There is of course much more good stuff, some that come to mind is when he's taking the mickey out of accents... AWWWROIGHTURRRR!!(cant find file tho') is funny, as is Carries Cousin.
Whilst looking through the files I found - and remembered - when he called the automatic swichboard, especially when he was looking for Bobby Friction
And, I listened to his first afternoon show which impressed me.
Chris said, maybe Dave wrote:Bob Geldof, Dr. Fox, Whoever the hells on Virgin today, Disc Jockeys across the UK beware, We have arrived

fish heads wrote:Good idea Gaspode.

agreed :D

The first time Moped's Clokhs was played to Pete Tong will always stick out in my mind, and the show in the wake of 9/11.

1 - Camp Westwood, It went with a mighty bang, the bit when the Snooker music starts playing and Aled reads the competition out is unforgettable "Would we be blasting off with A:) 1? Brilliant.
2 - 'Mighty Bus Rant', From November, oh man what a foghorn, not only did he sound so hurt by life in London but he went on to invent a miserable hospital receptionist and 'Maureen' "I'm bleedin to death ere luv!!" "Don't raise your voice at me.."
3 - 'Patsy Kensit late night shopping in a grocers' The whole team got stuck into this one and were falling over themselves laughing, this is all I can remember of it but it was good.
4 - 'Stanta' - Has to be taken into consideration and stuck in top 5, the original and best parody?
5 - 'Little Chris and Dave' - I'll twin this one with them singing Scissor Sisters in ridiculous high pitch change. Then the unplannable bit when they rescued the once nortoriously famous 6:55 slot from technical difficulties last Xmas. "We dont like Rachel, she stinks of wee and poo"
6 - 'Beep Busters swear for Donna', I remember him writing a blog afterwards saying "Interesting show today..?!" well it sure was, I will always remember it as Beep Beep effing Busters, certainly nothing else(!)
7 - 'Bumbing in the pool' - Jump up and hold your knees! During ORT, Dom's hilarious gaff. High Five! Daves wheezy laugh, in the first hour of the show too.
8 - 'Chris Martin Interview Part 2' - A very intense piece of radio, twas the week of The Brits, and Meister Martin was trying so so hard to hack his way out of that studio, but still managed to discuss the delights of ping pong and sing Cornflake door, quite a witty fellow in truth.
9 - 'Dr Who Roy' - I could chuck loads of moments from this feature that literally died and came back this year (news just in....it might come back after BBC phone-in crisis! Cool) The replies from Roy are perfectly timed, leaving Chris in pieces.
10 - 'Lisa Hanlon' It JUST beat Clumsy Westwood to the all-time list..Due to the style and delivery of the whole thing, he timely built it up right the end of the show, plus it was his first day back from hols, brilliant way to come back with a bang. Black Forest Gateau is a great gag but it was the comical music afterwards followed by the closing jingle that made it special, what a moment.

By itself the cheesy song needs a mention, its special. For me though - its the perfect piece of music to mark a special year in his career, go on, sing it Holly!

That looks like one of those "Best ever comedy" lists and it ends up being won by Little Britain or Catherine Tate. Not saying the ones you have chosen aren't good, but most of them aren't best ever material.

I think one of the funniest moments was the tickling of carrie last week (Fri 20th July 07). It was really fuuny to listen to and made an excellent filler

My suggestions : a) The refusal to let people (David Gest / Jordan) into the Studio because they were late. About time people had more respect for radio.

b) "Freaky Aled Friday" (?)... I think that's what it's called... Too tired to investigate. Frighten Aled Friday?

I agree. Average at best.

To whoever said the Carrie thing should be in there, oh dear lord. That was the worst piece of radio I had ever heard. Too long, too visual and not funny.

The best Moyles rants were old skool ones, the Dr Fox and Jono Coleman esque ones. I wouldn't put too much newer material in this top ten to be honest..
