No, didn't the Sun run that story about Scousers nicking things out of victims pockets at Hillsborough and now you still can't get the Sun in Liverpool? It's a plus point about Liverpool, I feel.

The idea that anyone would suggest that Liverpool and its people have ever been anything other than innocent and suffering victims of adversity and tragedy is ludicrous. How dare The Sun actually report what happened rather than remember this?

I heart Boris Johnstone (sometimes).

But it didn't actually happen thats the whole point. What The Sun reported was just lies.

I'm the first to admit people need to accept their responsibility for events (Liverpool FC have a long history in this) but you really should get your facts straight first Yudster.

Were you there? My brother and his son were. They know what they saw, and it was a lot worse than anything that got reported.

Well, thats ok then. My nephew was in hospital for two weeks after Hillsborough (he was nine years old when it happened) and still has nightmares about it now. Might have something to do with why he developed into a Manchester United fan. Trauma can do things like that.

If I hadn't known what they wrote, how could I know that what my brother saw was worse? I have to admit that at the time none of us read anything that was reported, we were all too concerned about Patrick, but we caught up. Richard (brother) had no argument with any of it. Ironically enough, he had a small part in the TV movie Hillsborough a few years later, he said it was a very very strange experience.

Richard has been approached by the media many times since, the last time was only a year or so ago. He simply doesn't want to talk to the papers about it. He has given shedloads of statements to the police, directly leading to the conviction of two individuals for theft (there were others too I think), and his lad recovered and apart from occasional issues is totally fine. He thinks thats the important thing, and I can't really blame him for that. He hasn't been to see Wednesday since though. So, every cloud and all that.......
