On Tuesday morning this week I rumbled Chris Moyles outside Radio 1 to plug our music. I gave him a brief talk about our music and work with Ray Santilli.

Ray was responsible for people like Ian Drury, Boy George, Hot Chocolate, Howard Jones, Bill Wyman, Slade, Eurythmics and Musical youth to name but a few.He also had a film made about him starring Ant and Dec called Alien Autopsy.
It was quite funny to hear him rip me live on air before he realised I was telling him a true story....

Anyway....I have had loads of people in the music industry who have had good success say that he would play our stuff for a laugh which is why I approached him in the first place. The meeting was by total fluke as I work around those parts and was just passing by.

If you want to hear the clip from Radio 1 and check out our music then goto http://www.myspace.com/c o c k n e y avengers

Nice one....Coley

So whats with this non-smiley etiquette then?

Is it seen by some as punctuation for lack of wordsmithery?

*refrains from attempting to use the forbidden smiley*

So would you say that some of the great writers in history could have been better communicators and story tellers if they used a well placed smiley then? :D

Actually, anyone with the ability to express themselves adequately wouldn't need to stoop to the level of using 'smilies'.

There is a difference between "some of the great writers in history" and "anyone with the ability to express themselves adequately" though. I don't think the great writers in history would ever wish to use smilies, but for us mere mortals they can liven things up occasionally.
