The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

The film is largely based on the first book, although there are a couple of annoying omissions, and some extra stuff that DNA wrote specifically for the film.

Also, there are five books (H2G2; Restaurant of the End of the Universe; Life, Universe and Everything; Thanks for all the Fish; and Mostly Harmless) as well as a short story involving a young Zaphod

Oh freddled gruntbuggly, thy micturations are to me
as plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee
Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon,
See if I don't!

I thought it was 'A trilogy in 5 parts'.

I preferred the books by far; I never thought the TV series was that good. My first exposure to the H2G2 'trilogy' was an audio recording of the first book by DNA himself. It's a really great version if you want to get into the books and don't feel like reading.

I thought the film was a good if different version. All the versions pretty much deviate from each other in some way. I prefer the books overall.
