You could have spent the rest of your life if you were unlucky enough to be there today.

I always think its more scary when they attack somewhere other than London. Like when the IRA attacked Warrington it mean't nowhere was safe.

This is the thing, we didnt really think too much about it - its always been the major english cities that seemed to be most likely to be hit. Obviously we were being naive.

I do like the way that the weegies didn't just scream and run away - they gave the guys in the jeep a kicking. Class.

To be honest, I think we should have been ready for this. It co-incides with the start of the religious festival "Ramavan"!

At least the police were on the ball when the guy on fire jumped out the jeep. He was charged with being in possession of having two fire arms and smoking in a public place!

Brillinat - and someone was interviewed after and said when the raw suspect (as opposed to the cooked one) was taken away its a good job the police kept the crowd back because he wouldn't have survived otherwise. I'm not a violent person, but I wonder if that kind of attitude isn't the right way forward!Nice one Glasgow.

Two fire arms ! Classic, excellent stuff Foots.

Seriously though, thank your stars it could have been much worse, and it is great to see that "the public" aren't going to be afraid of these guys.

Was it you who tried to beat up my son for being dark skinned, dark haired, carrying a rucksack and being on a train a couple of months ago then?

I've visited the airport earlier today - to say I am impressed is an understatement!

If it wasn't for the rather large black hole in the side of the building, you wouldn't really know there had been a near major disaster. The front of the terminal is closed off, which is understandable, but car park two (the main place I deal with) which is directly opposite the front door is still open and I can access the airport via the walkway - basically, I don't really see me being too affected by the whole thing.

They were busy sweeping the rubble away while I was there so I really wouldnt be surprised if the whole thing was back to normal inside a week or so. I dont really see them letting vehicles outside the front of the building again for some time, but that will be because of a security issue, not damage to the building.

Folk from Glasgow are called Glaswegian. Shortened to "weegie".

My brother's nickname at college is 'Ahmed', due to his looking like a Turk.

That website is brilliant. I have joined the John Smeaton appreciation society on Facebook!

Yeah, I agree it sounds wrong. He's starting to do the nicking things while drunk thing now - this weekend it was a temporary traffic lights warning sign.

my mate nicked a cone once and the police saw him and made him walk all the way back to where he got it from while they drove alongside. oh how we laughed.
