The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Crikey, a super-refresh...... that was a doosie of an idea. Thank you sire.

I'm not sure if it has worked yet because no one's put in a new post since. But some of the icons for "multi-page" threads are moving about, they didn't do that before...... so I guess I'm in for an improvement all round.

Once again, thanks veyr much.

Yours
ballbag.

You gotta love BT.

For the record, I agree, think it's a nice touch.

Chris wrote:I don't want to too heavily customise the forum, as any forum upgrades become ever more complex to install the more customised the forum is.

Ha, it can be a nightmare upgrading heavily modded software, I agree! Also, if you're going to bespoke the original product a lot, you may as well write your own.

To summarise -

I like how there were pants things that used to happen and now they don't any more.

I like how there are more things you can do

I don't like how it looks different, but this is a)irrelevant and b)temporary, as I'll get used to it.

Thank you.

As others have mentioned, firefox2 has an in-built spell checker, I'd suggest looking at that or learning to spell

I wish I could, It's not that I am dislexic, it's more to do with the fact I went to school when they stopped putting that much emphasis on it, scholastic or something. I have accounts lodged in Companies house with Expenses spelt wrong, expences ! and I am still not sure about there and their !

Annoying !

Bloody governments messing with schools again, when I was at school, they abolished the times tables, half way through being taught them! Years later I had to go to evening classes to learn arithmetic, I was a little embarrassed to say the least, but I ended up enjoying it, and also learning that most of the people were no different to me, despite the view that I had before going, that I was entering the land of Thickos!
I wouldn't worry too much about spelling, Most doctors can't spell unless its medical terms.
I was taught the difference between there and their at primary school, it was something like this...
There is T - HERE, Here is a place as is There ... the royal family are all people, so they are T - HEIRS.
Something like that anyhoo, you get the idea hopefully. (twas such a long long time ago!)

Learning times-tables, reading, spelling or grammar was not allowed when I was in school, my mum had to teach me in secret and make me swear I'd never tell. I'm actually not joking.

Why?

Why what? Why wasn't it allowed (I don't know, ask the government), or why did my mum feel the need to teach me (because she had enough sense to know it WAS important) or why did it have to be secret (because ridiculous though it was, the schools were told that such structured and active learning processes were bad for us - and on one occasion, she was told it wasn't a good idea that I was getting so far ahead of the other children, it upset the balance of the class).

No, but if you think schools are bad now, you should have seen them in the seventies.

No - and in my opinion, neither was anyone else.

It was why wasn't it allowed mainly.

Ha, I have been doing a lot of apologising over the last day! Good news is we've been accepted with someone else (an independent lender) but it's quite a bit more expensive. I'm such a knob.

Also thanks for all who helped and supported me in the chat room yesterday! Gaspode, S4B, Charlalottie and Catherine mainly.
