Enjoyed the 'phone interview between Dom & Alan Sugar (13.6.07).

Nice to hear a more up-beat Sugar clearly pleased with the latest "Apprentice" series, which I must say has been EXCELLENT.

This is the only reality TV show I have been enjoying, because it has had a blooming purpose to it, as well as being very funny in places. Some of the antics of contestant Simon Ambrose were priceless.

Glad the interview was nice & light, and didn't zone in on the on-going, and now tiresome, "Katie Hopkins Saga"

Well done. Marks out of 10 = 6.5 :D

Yesterday eve Mrs Ballbag had a friend around for tea who insisted on watching the final of that show last night, I've never seen an episode of it so decided to give it a go........ my God I wish I hadn't. What a load of drivel.
Seeing a bunch of half-wit gimpers trying to get a "job" that they'll leave within a few months by participating in a load of tests, when in actual fact the "winner" was probably chosen on the back of behind the scene interviews and not what was going out on the screen.
Partaking in absolute crap "tasks" that are blatantly choreographed by the production team to appear interesting. "Team A decided to go to the science museum for some influence". No they didn't, the producers said "get down to the science museum, pretend you're looking for inspiration and take some photos........ oh, and make sure you swear a lot too, that's always good for ratings".
It really is a load of pre-planned tosh.

Well, I enjoyed it !! Nice to see people wanting to do something constructive, rather than the BB brigade who spend their time looking in mirrors all day !!

I don't understand. I thought The Apprentice was for talented individuals who wanted a chance to show that they could make the grade and handle a £100,000 a year job - in other words, people for whom that kind of salary would normally be out of reach of, without incredible luck and rare opportunities. The one who "walked", was it Katie? She apparently has been sacked from her old job - salary £90,000. So Sir Alan's job would hardly have even been a promotion for her. Whats the point in taking a bunch of people who are already working at the level you want, and making a programme? I thought it was all about giving the opportunity to people who wouldn't be in a position to apply for the job if it was advertised, not people who are already pretty much doing it.

Could prestige of working for Sir A. be involved, in that after they had worked for him, they could shine like the brightest stars, and basically command any salary they wanted ever after.

Also, re: Katie - Katie was a political game-player, who just wanted to see if she could do it.....

She was apparently fired from the met office, because she brought the company into disrepute. Was reading this y/day.

Yes, but my point was she was already working at about the level of the job being offered by Sir Alan. I thought the programme was to find people who could be "brilliant", not people who already (supposedly) are?

Er.... Katie was hardly brilliant. Katie got by (as one of Sir Alan's own advisors had stated) largely by using feminine charms: batting of eyelashes, and fluffing the blonde hair - God, I hate blondes, I really do!

She's clearly a very intelligent, but extremely vindictive and manipulative woman. The Met Office have denied she was on £90,000 I believe, but whether she really was or not is another thing; either way, she was on a decent whack.

she was on a decent whack, but also apparently caught in a "compromising position" in a nearby cornfield, I think you may find. Great professionalism.

I hate the stereotype blondes that all look exactly the bloody same and probably have the same (low) IQ etc like the twins off BB (but dont get me started on that).
Katie was one of those people who thinks she has femine charms and uses them quite obviously... and it rarely works because anyone with half a brain can see it, Sir Alan definately noticed it.

So do you also hate Madonna? She's blonde... well most of the time anyways.

I DO NOT hate Madonna! For a start, Madonna is naturally dark-haired (like moi), and thus more sensible and grounded. She died her hair blonde because she had the intelligence a long time ago to realise that she would gain more attention in life! Blonde hair girls always seem to attract people for some bizarre reason!

I hate Madonna. She's the most overrated artist in music.

How bright do you have to be to flutter eyelashes at every male in sight? I once worked beside a woman in a personnel position: a little blonde thing, who used to always pass me saying "hi! how you doing?". This appeared to be all she ever did. Sometimes, I wouldn't even bother answering.

What's wrong with being friendly when you walk past someone? You just didn't like her because she was blonde would be my guess.

This Katie person is no fool, believe me.

I can see what the hype is about with them though.

I didn't say she's an idiot, I said she's overrated.

Re: personnel woman: I didn't like her because she "got by" on being blonde. The only thing she appeared to know how to do was say "hi! how ya doing". She lacked the ability for real HARD WORK, and THAT is why I did not like her.

Re: Madonna - she is not over-rated. She has constantly re-invented herself! Constantly questions life! Her music is very deep, every album is different, and her voice is SO blooming beautiful.
