Chris, You posted elsewhere that you were planning to get rid of the Chatroom due to Lack of Interest. The reason I've never used it is because I didn't even know it actually existed. After learning the whereabouts of this fabled room on Friday, Me and about 5 other board members logged in there and were chatting for several hours. It was really enjoyable too.

So I was thinking - why don't you put a link to it up there ^^^ on the menu board to see if that makes a difference? Say display it up there for a month or two to see if it becomes more popular, if not, then get rid of it?
Just a thought...

(Oh, and if you take up my idea, I will of course insist its name change to "Zoot's Chatroom", but that goes with out saying.... )

Well I for one have the Forum bookmarked, not the homepage, so I always come straight here, so I wonder how many others do that.
All I'm saying is that We were reminded of it and used to great effect and enjoyed it, so if it was in our face all the time...?

There used to be a link to the chat-room on the menu at the top, it was only very recently removed (when the menu style was changed in the last two weeks).

The only downside with this suggestion is that there would need to be some type of organisation with the whole thing.

I've been in a couple of times (including today) and not seen anyone else there.

Well all we do there is either have something that will able us to see who is in the chatroom at any given time without going in it ourselves, or give a shout out in one of the threads, eg - Zoots Bar. Or even have a Sticky thread that say's "I'm in the Chatroom, come join me"

If you put all the information on the forum about other areas of the site it just err turns in to the errr errr errr homepage. errrr you should have just gone to the errr homepage before the forum if you wanted to errrrr know about other stuff than the errrr forum.

that might not be so easy to get it onto this page.

He would need to put something onto the banner part at the top of the page which might affect the way the rest of the site is designed.

Easiest thing is if folk just say in a random thread (yer bar idea prob) rather than trying to redesign the site for a feature that we have never really used.

I'm not sure what the errrrs were about, so I'll just answer that without the sarcasm that you replied with.

Yes, that is my choice, but even the sound library is linked from here, so I can get anything I want that I use by bookmarking here.
I should imagine the majority of the chatroom users would already be forum members, so why not have a link to it on the forum page and maybe a thread dipicting who was in there as oppose to having to flip back to the home page everytime.

It would be possible to put a list of active chat room users on the main forum page, but it doesn't encourage use if no one's in there.
