How amazing is Lewis Hamilton? Don't know if anyone else cares but I just wanted to tell you all that I think he's amazing!!!

I think he's bloody good, BUT he did win like Button, when Alonso and serious competition were out of the running for whatever reason.

But in 6 Grand Prix he's not been off the podium and he's only been in 6 grand prix, so forget the BUT demon

Sorry, not to take anything away from either of them, but I think had Button gone straight into a McLaren or Ferrari he would have achieved similar.

I disagree. I believe Button is another Coulthard, whereas potentially, Button is a Schumacher or a Senna in future seasons. He's not there yet but he's certainly got potential.

He's had more development and funding thrown at him for sure, and I doubt he'll renege on contracts signed like Button did a few years back.

Sorry to double-post but Button was on for scoring points on his own debut before retiring with engine problems.

He has had more funding, agreed; McLaren have been behind him for quite a while, that's no secret, but there is no doubt he's an extremely talented driver, much more so than Button in my opinion. Button turned heads when he came into F1 because he was our only prospect at the time. Hamilton really does have the potential to be World Champion and, in fact, was turning heads long before he got into F1.

Why is it that women don't seem interested in sport unless the object of their interest is, as you put it book woman, cute. In any case how do you mean he did very well with 4 safety cars? He had the fastest car and was at the front the entire race, didn't have anyone to overtake really, just pull away and stay out of trouble 5 times.

I like this sentence by the way topher the bopher, oh for an edit button in here.

I say well done to the chap, it's great to have a world class sportsman who doesn't loose his head in the final moments, and become a nearly did it sort of chap, which we do seem to have allot of, the discipline shown was immence, and really does bode well for the future, the discipline of a German, and a French Car, but a cute Brit in the seat. Button needs the right ride, and a management that's not messing things up, personally I think Button is managed by his parents, and he likes the high life, where as I think Hamilton is managed by the team, and appears to shun the high life, Button still has a few years to improve, and Hamilton will either go on to be the best driver we have ever had or tragically be killed in his first season, and be forever a "what could have been"

What strikes me about Hamilton is that he appears to be so focused in a way thats way beyond his 22 years. Thats what sets him apart from Button et al.

I guess that's a benefit of being trained by McLaren since the age of 13.

Not fair Baggie I love the Grand Prix, it just so happens that he's cute! Also I say he did well because he kept getting those enormous leads and then the safety car kept coming out, it must have been frustrating for him especially as this has been his dream for such a long time and he's really young so could've made stupid miskates because of said frustration.

He's got to make a mistake at some point. I keep waiting for it to happen. I hope for his sake it doesn't happen at Silverstone - mind you being as he's British, thats probably exactly what will happen.

I Thought it was a fantastic race, and now that we know he's ok not not too seriously hurt, I can say this - How cool was that Crash!!!!

The problem with Hamilton doing so well so early on is that he can now only go one way, and thats down.

Amazing crash! I really thought he was a gonner but now he's ok I feel I can watch it in slowmo with no guilt

He could, of course, continue to win!

What I mean is, for the first race, he was 3rd. For the next 4 he was 2nd, then last race he was 1st, so he's bettered himself every time. Now unless he wins every single race until he retires, then he can't better himself, and you know how harsh the critics are.

I don't think Lewis hamilton is cute. I do think Jensen Button is cute (and I felt sorry for him yesterday). Having gone right off F1 in the last few years, I have started taking an iterest again, probably only because of Lewis Hamilton (cute though he is, Jensen Button never made me watch a race) - I'm not convinced it will be a sustained interest, although I wish him all the best, he seems a nice enough chap and his dad seems ok too.
And just to examine the women/sport/cute relationship further - neither Federer nor Nadal was cute enough to make me want to sit through that dull final at Roland Garros yesterday.
