definitely believable tho. I work with another lad from Preston and the other day we were discussing the differences in accents between Preston and Chorley, which is only a few miles down the road - eg they pronounce bus as 'buz' and we don't. Also just yesterday a customer told a colleague of mine that she sounded just like Sara Cox - this puzzled us as Sara is from Bolton whilst my colleague is from Rochdale, and to our ears they are very different accents.
