I remember all of Foot-loose's (the Red Car vs the Blue Car was brilliant, as was the Christmas Coke ad, but that was on every year up until last year wasn't it?)

I've had a quick look around for mine, but I can't find them on YouTube - it's the WHSmith ads with Nick Lyndhurst playing every character.

When I found that Ki-ora advert I went straight to the red car and the blue car advert. I remember it so well yet the last tim it aired was 1989, how old do I feel!!!

I dunno if you lot had this one, but Barrs Irn Bru will evoke a lot of memories from any Scots reading.

As we all know A Mars a day helps you work rest and play.

Its the goodness you get from milk, sugar, glucose and thick thick chocoloate dontcha know.

When I was younger I was scared of eating Mars Bars, because my Grandmother had bad eyesight and somewhere along the line I got it into my head that the white cloudy layer you get on your eyes was called Glucose.

I used to like those government information ads - particularly such gems as "don't fly kites near electricity pylons or you'll die", "always put the safety catch on your rifle or you'll shoot yourself" and my favourite: "don't play on railway lines or an intercity will come along and you'll lose your feet".

I didn't like the ads much, but I loved the gold coffee-bean pendant. So much so that my best friend (the one I told you about who died) had a solid gold coffee bean made for me for my birthday, on a lovely gold chain. A few months after, they started being mass produced - only nowhere near as nice as my proper, solid, well-designed one. I still wear it sometimes.

I did love Tony Head in Buffy the Vampire Slayer though. And did you know the woman in those ads, Sharon Maughan, is married (or was anyway) to Trevor Eve? Little bit of trivia.

Alas, I cannot see youtube here at work so I don't know what half the ads linked to are.

I remember when I used to watch Shortland Street (anyone remember that?) in my college days and finally realised what 'kia-ora' actually meant. What a revelation!

What about Shake 'N' Vac? That's one everyone remembers.

Anyone else remember the late seventies Foster Grants sunglasses ads? They were totally revolutionary at the time - would look pretty ordinary now I imagine!
