I've just this second finished watching it on YouTube (missed the show when it was on).

Couldn't help but laugh at Clarkson's parting shot.

Hmmm. I know where slut4books is coming from on the rugby codes issue. I was a die hard Union follower for most of my life until I met Mr Yudster, who is from "t'north". Whilst I will never stop loving Union, I can now appreciate what is good and exciting about League. Its just not the same game, there's no point in trying to make a direct comparison. On the whole, I like the sustained and unrelenting physicality of Union, and the tactical requirement - I also like that in Union, if you want the ball, you have to win it, it won't get given to you - but I also enjoy the explosiveness and the speed and the tackling of League. I'd love to watch the game live, I've seen a lot of Union but I've never been to a League game. I like Wigan (because Mr Yudster told me to).

When Union is played well its good to watch but at a lower level it is all standing on peoples heads and constant kicks to touch. With league you tend to get more guaranteed entertainment.

hmm depends if you want to watch a bunch of girls pretending they can play a man's game or Rugby Union!

a few things...

New York is a lot like london! I was in the Uk last year and loved every second of it, but my time in London was the least exciting. It was just like being in a neighborhood of new york where everyone has an english accent. very wierd. Though I am considering moving to London since it seems like the transition would be fairly easy.

I love how this thread turned to a discussion of Americal Footbal vs rugby! You should all go see the new York Giants when they play a game at Wembly. I don't even like (american) football, but going to a game is really visceral and exciting. It's so woerd that they are playing in London, I would def go if I could.

The other thing about listening to Moyles is that half the time he is talking about celebrities I have never heard of. Lately I've been downloading big brother... but all of your celebs, like the ones Chris had on the Big Brother After Show are complete strangers to me. Are they really famous over there? The only one I know is Vanessa Phelps, but only because of her Fat Fighters appearance on Little Britian.

I know an American Football fan, he says it's like chess on a football field. I say it's like rugby with padding.

I get the impression, though I haven't watched it, that the 'celebrities' on Moyles' Big Brother programme are a bit of a joke; has-beens from years ago. It's unlikely you'll have heard of most of the TV presenters and such in the UK, in the same way that we've probably heard of very few of your own TV presenters, except the ones whose shows have been sold to stations over here. I would expect that you've probably heard of a few but not too many footballers, some actors but not too many other than that.

Can't help but agree with that, strangely though I still find it Very watchable. I watch the Superbowl each year, which is more than I can say for the FA Cup Final, Champions League etc etc.

Its weird when I watch films the american accents wash over me, but on the Beaner and Ken radio, I notice the accents soo much, because Im so used to British radio.

Beaner and Ken were interesting - they actually used to talk to some London DJ's on their show but I don't remember who. I'll send in a sound request to them and see if they can pull some of the old clips.

Do you think they would be interested in an american on big brother 9? I wonder how my accent would go over with the british public.
